Define banging...

I will have to change my statement...

IT'S ALIVE! I am so happy right now, that i can't really describe it. Have been strugling with this bike for half a years, and know it starts and stays in low rpms.

After i wrote the message before, i took out the plugs because i thaugt that it might be drowned. After an hour i put them back in.. Didn't start (i only pushed the switch a few seconds to avoid drowning it), switched cables between the spools, didn't start, switched back, 1-2-Wrooom!

It seemed to be the damned floats. Thanks for the help mate:thumb: I will write back when i have tried to give it a little gas, but for know it is running good!

Great to hear that!

For a moment there, I thought something bad happened again.

Enjoy your ride! :-)

he's the 1...:sian:

you think its worth it for a used 1 & its not a pair, its only 1side? when you arent certain whether it works? do you think after you serviced it & its damaged, the seller will refund you the $? i dont think so..

Depends on how bad are the issues with your fork.

Did you crash? Are the stanchions bent? Else, all it requires may be new seals on both legs.

If you want a bike for fun, you could try the front end of a K series GSXR 600/750, makes more sense.

what tubes? tell me more. i'm going to planet this sat to change the seal 1st.

In Suzuki terms...

Each damper assembly consist of an inner and an outer leg. Between them, there's a whole bunch of seals - from the parts catalog.

  • spacer, seal
  • bush, guide
  • seal, oil
  • ring, stopper
  • dust seal
  • bush, slide

Which one did you replace? I seriously doubt there are many bike shops that'll stock all the required parts on the shelf; and they've got shelf life.

If all the seals have been replaced and the fork is still leaking, chances are that the inner leg (the part that is plated) is bent. It takes lots of force to bend this, typically, the wheel would have to be damaged and the bike wouldn't be handling well at higher speeds.

You have 2 options. You could either procure all the seals off the internet or from KS motors - if they still stock these stuffs - or get a K series GSXR Showa fork, these will be much better then your factory Kayaba.

Dig deep enough in the "bike mart" section under "sports bikes" and "Suzuki" and you'll find someone selling a pair of tuned forks from a GSXR at around under a grand.

Problem here is... You'll need to replace your factory axial Nissin with radial Tokico. Hence, I was asking if you wanted a bike for transport or thrills.

I may be replacing my front end with Ohlins and Brembo stuffs, but that could be late this year or early next year and perhaps the rims too. So it will be a complete front end. Not gonna be soon or cheap

planet quoted me $50 for 1side seal + change oil. if i'm not wrong, its the outer black seal, should be the dust seal? he told me shorten the spring may help. i dont really understand what he said...

A peekture would help... :-)

If it's the dust seal, it's gonna be totally useless as the bush or seal could already gone.

Don't seen how shortening the spring will help. It gets pretty technical here.

Reducing the length of the spring without specialized equipment is dangerous. Even with the necessary equipment, just trimming the springs alone will reduce your fork's travel and in turn become dangerous when taking corners fast as it could result in your fork bottoming out.

The right way is to put in new springs, stiffer ones. But then again, the issue is with the fork leaking, not the compression or rebound.

lol.... like that also can..

ok... if he shorten the spring, i'll double confirm with him about any cons & take down his peekture. anything happen to me after that, it'll be used to sue him.. lol.

A picture of the seal he changed would help identify if it would even resolve a leaking fork. If he only replaced the dust seal, your fork will still leak as the seal only prevents dust from hitting the rest of the seals and bush above it.

Changing springs are not as easy as it sounds. If he's popping in new springs, you need to consider what type of spring, spring height and weight.
