anyone here got stock pipe can lend me or sell me? i urgently need it for inspection. i just kena caught by LTA for my pipe. i'm told to go STA for inspection tml by 3pm. Anyone can help? What should i do ah? text me at 93899904. URGENT

waaa LTA ar... they gt bring u go back vicom annot? if dont have u faster go find 1 stock pipe replace.. if nt kana fine 500$...

I would say that anyone who wants to use an illegal bike should have kept a stock pipe as spare on hand. But its too late for that.

 

Have you considered trying to send the bike to a bike shop? Planet has a few pipes on hand, but i dont know if any belongs on a gixxer4.

its actually base on luck. you wont know whats wear & tear in the carb & engine. it can cost you a hole in wallet. if throttle @ rpm5k & it sounds lao hong / wet, dont buy. if idling unstable, dont buy. if N gear, throttle, engine got metal sound, go faster as you rev higher, dont buy. if free hand when test bike, go 1side, dont buy. blah blah... good luck! but if its damn cheap, of cos something must be wrong. if i'm selling, i'll sell @ least 3k... why? cos i've done it up with A HOLE in my wallet...

Hahaaa... I bought mine for 1.6k i guess?!

And i spent 4k to repair,overhaul and beautify it!

The best part... Bike shop CHOPPED me despite my cousin knowing them ^^

My advise, dont get OLD bike... Too many set backs, although its a BEAST "STILL"!!!!!!!!!

 

@5k RPM, ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Love it =)

CALLING FOR BRO YOSHITEL.

ask you, out of 4 plugs, 1st brown, the rest all black.

what do you think is the problem & best cheapest solution?

btw, now i changed to iridium denso IU24 for a test see how 1st, suggested by bro adnoh.

Might i try to see if my insights might help?

 

Your symptoms show signs of 3 cylinders running rich. This rules out a faulty plug coil, as what I remembered when I had mine, the gixxer 4 has one plug coil splitting into 4 plug caps. However! The plug caps could malfunction individually! Which leads to the first diagnostic:

 

1. Are the caps at fault? Remove the tank, and test the caps one by one. You do that by pulling the plug cap from its plug, and plugging in a spare plug that you know will work. You are looking for a blue spark. Any other colour, and you know the plug cap is not getting enough juice to fire the plugs properly. Peer into the cap. If you cannot see a shiny metal thread, if could be a rusty connector placing too much resistance. Spray it up with contact cleaner, or wd40 will do. If you see a blue spark, check the plugs as well. It could be a fouled plug. Or even a combination of the two, across your 3 cylinders. Cost: a little elbow grease and a can of contact cleaner. Maybe a few plugs.

 

If your plugs are fine, then you may have a problem in the carbs. When is the last time you cleaned your carbs?

 

2. Have a mechanic clean your carbs. If you don't need to replace worn main jets, expect to pay 80 dollars. Add another 20 if they are. Pester your mechanic to set the afr of the carbs, as well as sync the idling. He might add more, but it will be worth the better performance and fuel economy.

 

If that fixes the problem, then good for you!

 

Another thing to add to solution1. It could be that the wire connecting the cap to the coil is corroded

i recently changed the 2 plug coil, brand new with new cables. cleaned my carbs less than 6mths ago. but i've already changed to iridium plugs. maybe i'll go for the plug cap solution. but you sure can spray with wd40? i know its running abit rich. workshop told me this bike old, its better to run abit rich, to prevent engine break down. true?

Best to run perfect than rich. But a little rich is better than a little lean.

 

But if its black instead of brown, then its too rich. Or you got a leaky seal in your cylinders, touch wood.

k, i'll take in consider your suggestions & see how to troubleshoot the problem. these spolit plugs have been bothering me for months.
