yeah.... however its very fuel consuming. would prefer the consumption of super 4 rather than gixxerr...

That is without saying, can't compare like that.....one is a sports bike and another is a street bike...... juz like sponge cake and cheese cake...totally diff taste.

Welcome to the g4 family, might wanna check out the gixxer thread in teh sticky column for outings n gatherings.

There is a tech thread lost somewhere in here.....might wanna check that out too.

Most of all, take gd care of your bike and it will take gd care of you...... enjoy your ride!

o_O Hmmm? G4 full tank mileage oni 120+???

Muz be kidding lah brudder........tats like half my mileage for a full tank without using reserve leh.....

Either your bike got super leak somewhere or your petrol evaporate super fast or your odo meter not working...... there is no way your mileage can be so low.....

there total of 2 type of valve inside our engine. one is intake valve, one is exhaust valve. total how many, i'm not sure.

the valves is to let the air/fuel mixture into the engine and the exhaust out of the engine. air/fuel is intake valve, exhaust valve is for the exhaust smoke after combustion to your header to end can (4-2-1).

Just as the piston starts moving downward in the intake stroke (called top dead center, or TDC), the intake valve would open. The intake valve would close right as the piston bottoms out.

The exhaust valve would open right as the piston bottoms out (called bottom dead center, or BDC) at the end of the combustion stroke, and would close as the piston completes the exhaust stroke.

For our bike rite, its DOHC (Double Overhead Cam)

A double overhead cam engine has two cams per head. So inline engines have two cams. Usually, double overhead cams are used on engines with four or more valves per cylinder. The main reason to use double overhead cams is to allow for more intake and exhaust valves. More valves means that intake and exhaust gases can flow more freely because there are more openings for them to flow through. This increases the power of the engine.

The picture below shows what can happen when a piston hits an open valve.

so as time pass and we ride our engine everyday, the valve clearance will slightly run out a bit by bit, so need to be adjust.

btw i need to do my carb service and valve clearance too....anyone wanna join in with me too?

Hmm after riding for 1 weeks. Got few funny thing about my bike.. Just wanna noe whether u guys got this problem b4 anot.

- Chutch in liao 1st gear at traffic light, da bike still will move slowly....

- Sometime up gear from 1st gear to 2nd gear will tio neutral gear.. haha then pple though i blow him.

- Very hard to kick to neutral gear when my bike is stationary....will be easlier to slightly tap down from 2nd gear to neutral when my bike is rolling to a stop.

- And when stationary i had to blow blow 1 time then i can engage to neutral gear very easily 'then' again pple though i blow him.

- When i drop gear or kick up gear... there will be a very loud TA ! sound.. will it shiong tio da gear box ??

Can give me advise on these ? thanks =)

i did call up to guanhoe to ask, carb services as usual $35. unless you reg. customer there lar...maybe cheaper. for the valve clearance will be more ex. as they need to drain out the coolent and engine oil. so need to replace the coolent, engine oil, head gasket. its something think top overhaul.

dirt did ask first-motor for me. valve clearance+wash & tune carb around $300+. Wheel bearing for $32front and $35rear. but they will test compression of your engine and everything before they tune. so it will be more firm. but a bit ex. loh.

planet charge around $50 for bearing and $60 for wash and tuning of carb. if you know them well, maybe can get more cheap also.

Sanfu charge around $70 for wash and tune of carb and front bearing $35 rear ???. as rear got 2 alike bearing and 1 different bearing. this what they say.

i should be going down to guanhoe to do my carb on tuesday afternoon. then leave my bike there for the whole afternoon.

*its your chain loose or spocket (front or rear) eaten liao. see the condition of your chain and spockets issit sharp or still flat at the edge. if spockets still okie rite, tighten a bit of your chain can liao. using 27 common ring to lossen (anti-clockwise), then adjust the 2 side using 12 common ring (anti-clockwise if i'm not wrong). after adjusting, tighten the size 27 nut and check your chain issit too tight or still loose. then check the alingment of your rear tyre from the marking below the size 12 nut. remember to put chain lope often to longer your chain life.
