I juz went to ks... see how many parts that i wanted to buy and fix on my bike. But lack of vitamin M. Wanna enquire on the prices, but see the old ah peh face so black 1. Juz asked for the price of the jet needle and zhao liao! 10 bucks each and the rear shock($330). hmmz but now my decision is to go planet and let them service better. After hearing so many bad things when u bring own stuffs there for them to fix!

 

Btw is the throttle for gsxr400 more "out"? can see the white gap between the switch and the grip. I find that normal throttle grip seems too long for my bike throttle. How much does a throttle cost ?? the bike can only be fixed with an original gsxr throttle?

uh hi.i think i went there somewhere around tt time too. wat did u bought? I juz bought a tripmeter knot only.. on the way back home forgot to buy the fuse cover! &$&$#

 

Anyway while i was there, met a malay chap who introduce me to this Pan Auto Svc at Enuos, when i asking abt the jet needle as my fc was very bad. Search thru the forum abt this shop, not a bad place! Think i might be going down there tmr.

Batt just changed so thats headlight on. But when I push electric start and throttle a bit. It just gives the sputtering sound. Like nearly on but cant on.. And i just changed the batt and spark plugs!!

 

And i tried push starting. Having difficulty lei.. any tips?

Yoz anyone wanna buy my gsxr? I just serviced it for over $200! Have receipt. Now cant start again. Selling for $1.4k. Willing to rectifiy this problem at my expense before letting go.

did u place ur bike under rain?did u try push start n find its hard to push then before?

i dunno y...i feel tat ur magnetic coil is gone...although it nt link but i used to hav same prob as u...did u try remove ur spark plug n check?

Try this method : Hold on to your start button, as the bike is cranking, twist n let go of yout throttle. Twist n let go. Don't let go of the start button as you twist your throttle. Bike should be ablt to start after a while. But if it happens to be like this all the time den its time to go for some tuning.

i am not sure if chris fogot to add the leave the kill switch on. Meaning u will not be able to start the bike....crank to clear ur carb after a few long crank...off the kill switch n try cranking without ur throttle...if u throttle alot u will flood u carbs again....this is if ur carbs are flooded. I suggest try changing spark plug cables.

Lobster : Maybe u can check ur fuse , see got burnt or melt. Tat time i at ah boy crank my bike also cannot start. then i check my fuse.. got 2 melted. Then i went n bought n replace it.. Then its back to normal. Maybe u can give it a try.

 

Push start : Just put ur bike in neutral , ( find 1 slope or call a fren give u a hand help push from behind ) While moving, just kick to 1st gear ( u will hear a TAK sound the let got of ur chutch n throttle abit. ). Tat time after i enter 2nd link i also came upon this problem but mine is battery cmi already .I tired push start wif 1st gear VERY HARD . Push start wif neutral gear successful in 1st attempt

Solidpig : So how ? 1st jet needle $10 at KS ? U got buy from there or going planet do up everything ? I will be back this sat morning. Ard afternoon then meet u n kenneth . 1st hand rear shock is $330 ? Drop so much liao ah .

Bgt this bike few mths bk. But I seldom ride as I take public transport to work. When I put under rain, I use raincoat lor.. but think still will kena water a bit. My mechanic told me this bike cant touch water one.. Wa if really magnetic coil problem, HG liao.

 

Push start really cant lei. I tried 2nd and 3rd gear liaoz. Spark plugs I just change somemore.

Yup, juz went to planet and there's a mech call ah beng who did my bike carb. The difference is there man! WIll be going to jb to pump full tank and see how's the milage.

 

Luckily float and jet needle still intact! Only replaced the carb dunno wat rubber seals. 4 big and 1 small rubber seals... 5 x $8 each + servicing $80 = $120. Felt the pinch, but compared to the smooth engine feel and fc, guess it's money well spent.

 

Now one more thing le, after he tested, commented that both my front and rear wheel bearing koyak le! Never do 1st, still can ride as I'm quite tired of waiting for abt 6 hrs for the whole process, i guess? Nevertheless, I will go down there and do up one of these days.

 

Still, last but not least, damn the fooker who knocked my bike and the stupid bike shop who promised to service the bike before handing over to me.

I use it very seldom so no pt keeping. Somemore work everyday no time to ride.

 

Ok ill try ur method tonight. It isnt the batt problem. Its definitely the starter or sth related. But I cant point out what. It cranks. But the sputtering sound comes out. Cant roar to life even when I throttle.

 

I just changed my spark plugs tho. My mechanic did it la. Dunno how to DIY. Anyone can teach me? I seriously noob at technical stuff.

I understand ur method liao.. Thats what I always do last time to my bikes. Have to start that way. Now I try the same thing still cant. Must tune carbs is it? or rectifier problem?

My paintwork yellow and black.

 

Fuse how to replace? Might be fuse lor. But I can't smell any burnt smell tho. Any technical link for Gsxr 400?

dunno this bike is sensitive to water or water... that time after i wash my bike... it cannot be start also... i tried to push start but i work... i manage to ride the bike to a nearby bike shop to do a check.. later the mech there change my batt and everything become alright le..

 

should not be the plug prob la.. either the coil, starter or batt la..

Shawn: the Hel brake hose was on my gsxr since i got it in Jan'05.

whoever pays first will get it. since i have ppl msging me for it also.

wow, I just chance upon this comment by our friend here. Just need to say this is so not true. Maxima is formulated for bikes, with anti-corrosion additives, effective for all form of corrosion you will find in bikes, including aluminium and exotic metals which are much more reactive and sensitive to corrosion than steel/iron.

 

'Rust' is corrosion of the element iron in 'iron' or steel parts. In a cooling system submerged with an electrolyte like water, your aluminum and magnesium parts will rot to bits while protecting the iron/steel components, this is because the more reactive aluminium and magnesium become a sacrificial anode. This is a well established electrochemical reaction, same reason why zinc plating protects from rust.

 

Hence if Maxima Cool-Aide protects the aluminium and other exotic (and reactive) metals, you can rest assured your iron and steel parts will remain RUST FREE. Redline WW states very clearly it does not protect Magnesium in the back label, that you should be aware of and perhaps worry about. Magnesium is hyper reactive and will corrode in preference over aluminium or steel. It is also a very common metal alloys used in impellers, pump covers etc in bikes! Redline makes their stuff chiefly for cars, which do not have so much of these fancy lightweight alloys because cars do not go on alternate year weight reduction programs like modern sportbikes do.
