Good advice on the previous page. Suspect plug fouled as all the symptoms are there after a ride in the rain (ie. chopper sounding revs, more acceleration needed for the same speed, and one header not evaporating water as fast as others).

But somehow, it seemed to be back to normal again after a ride in the sun (that pathetic ONE sunny day recently). Will wet plugs definitely result in a fouled plug?

Time to change the plugs.. zzz..

Wet plugs and fouled plugs are 2 different matters altogether.... I've yet to experience wet plugs so i can't compare their symptoms. But their occurances are completely different by nature.

Fouled plugs can be due to many reasons. Poor tuning, off-sync carbs, lack of usage(occurs frequently for old bikes for some reason that baffles me), wrong plugs etc. All these mostly have to do with the carb, engine itself.

On the other hand, wet plugs are due to the plug cap not covering the hole properly, allowing water to seep into the combustion chamber. This probably causes the plug to not be able to provide the spark cause of the water or the water prevents the combustion from taking place. Either way, when the element of the water is removed, i.e. evapourated, the engine returns to its original state. Either that or it fouls the plug in the process(whether it happens or not i'm not entirely sure).

For your case, just change the caps.......

If you wanna get sprockets, rem not to get the aluminium kinds...... wears out pretty fast, at least thats what i've heard. if you want something light get the kinds with alu in the centre and steel on the sprocket teeth.

Chain n sprocket ard that price.... depending on the type of chain and sprocket used.

Anybody got 2nd hand CDI for sale?

yo there,

i dun have a second hand cdi, but u can contact this fella Ivan at 97877780, he has a second hand CDI for sale. i contacted him last week cos i thought my CDI screwed up and thought of buying from him, he's selling it at 150.

condition im not sure, but the last time i checked with him, the serial number of his CDI is 33c01 or something like that (really not sure about the serial number now), which is suitable for my bike.

try asking your bike shop as to what serial number/model your bike should use for CDI, then contact Ivan to enquire.

:btw:

Ok sorry I always got something to chip in..

But sometimes it's not water, engine oil that's killing your plugs.

Your plugs would seem to be fine when you do the wet header thingy.

But you'd still get the chopper bike sound and feel.

Either way, it means ur carb could be out of tune, it could mean your carb is chocked with dirt and so forth.

Try installing a fuel line filter as well if your tank has been around.. err.. since you're in secondary school.
