This is my attempt to make my 19yr old bike look more modern. Most new bike have black subframes, decided to copy them and also lose my ugly looking stock pillion footrest.

 

After many months of sanding, priming and resanding and spraying and respray and waiting for parts to arrive from overseas finally completed my subframe project.

 

This is how the subframe looked like when I first got it.

As you can see, it's all dirty and covered in grime. Probably how most CBR subframes look like nowadays.

After many weeks of sanding the whole thing, this is how it looked like.

After washing it with thinner, I had sprayed a few coats of primer.

After my tyga part came from overseas, the wait was over, time to fix it in.

 

This is my old subframe, as you can see, it's also dirty and covered in rust, grime etc.

Took out everything, and washed it as now it's already out.

Ya really need alot of time to do, the whole process took about 3 months. :faint: Actually is shorter, sometimes I busy so stopped doing awhile.

 

After everything is ready, the process of fixing it in plus washing took very long also. I started before lunch finished at about 10.30pm. :faint:

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I nv hide them, as I always pillion. But to me it looks ugly. But to each it's own. :cheeky:
