This is the 2nd time my 11 year old Yamaha RXZ is showing this strange phenomenon. It all happened shortly after I sent the bike for engine overhaul abt 2 weeks ago. Paid $600+ for the job.

The 1st time occurred only a few days after the overhaul. Then I had difficulty starting up the bike although it was a hot day. Instinctively, I checked the EO level indicator and noticed that there was no engine oil. Immediately, I brought my bike back to the shop after I managed to get it started. The workshop mechanic simply topped up the engine oil to the right level.

More than a week later however, the level indicator suddenly showed there was too much engine oil. So I had to ask my mechanic to drain away the excess.

Yesterday, the level indicator showed there was no oil once again. Just to be sure, I left my bike on its main stand overnight to see if the oil would enventually show up. Somehow it didn't. So I brought my bike to my mechanic again today. He tried shaking and tilting the bike but still couldn't get the oil to show up. In the end, he drained the oil out and poured it back to the engine. After this, the oil level reappeared.

How this thing can happen, has any of the members here experienced this funny situation before? What was then the discovery and remedy?

I am quite concerned about this problem as engine oil is a very critical aspect of engine safety, as well as mine.

Hope someone will have some relevant info to share.

bro u overhaul $600 oredi damm exp..

ur EO left little by little day by day izit..?

if that is the case, then u better check the oil seal.

if the oil seal is worn out, or broken or watsoever of no use,

the EO will go in burning up in the piston..

IF THE CAP BELOW THAT DRAINS EO IS TIGHT AND NO SPILLING ON THE FLOOR WHEN U PARK.

DAMage- OIL SEAL BURST, BEARING GONE, EXCESSIVE SMOKE..

bro... when and where u check ur eo is important 2... sometimes bike tilted... may seem like low level.. or after a long ride... not all the eo flow back down to the reservoir

it seems to me that the crank case/ engine oil channels somehow choked with scum or goo or whateve u have there...

i would get the engine flush to remove all those obstruction..:cheeky:

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

sounds like the oil seal is broken. better get back to the mech who did ur bike. coz it will mix up wif ur coolant. serious matter may result to engine malfunction.

I've never owned a bike with coolant. Air-cooled only. Save money. :)
