Lube your chain

Bros i normal will jux clean the chain and sprocket with diesal after that i will wash my bike after washing will let it dry after that i will ride it bout 5 to 10 mins then i will lube..... do u guys think this way is ok????? cos i use this method for a very long time and my chain and sprocket still good.....

 

many would suggest kerosene or gt85 but for what works for you. it sounds good!

use a car jack..

or rise the rear wheel by supporting the exhaust pipe wif one hand and turn the wheel wif the other hand..

i dun have car jack ley. to get the mainstand is 130 quite exp.

 

1 person doing it alone can meh? meaning i pull the exhaust to make the bike to stand on the side stand, then left with 1 hand to hold the can and spin the wheel, but i am standing how to aim while spraying?

I put left hand on handle bar, right shoulder on seat. right hand spray while pushing bike.

i'm riding a phantom so what i do is place my thumb on the chrome chain guard to estimate and the rest of the fingers to press the nozzle and hold e can.

u can purchase a 2nd hand car jack at scrap yard.. very cheap.. juz a few bucks..

the hand method is when u squat behind the bike and use yr rite hand to jack up the rear via yr exhaust pipe..

hey after reading all your post, im still confuse on how to lube my chain.

 

i understand that we have to warm up the chain than after that just apply the lub?

but there are parts that you guys said clean your chain all these so i dont know.

all of us have different technique. Investing in a good commercial chain lubricant safe the hassle of cleaning your rims from flings. However, manuals recommend using grade 80-90 gear oils to protect the orings.

 

Cleaning or not, and method of cleaning differs between individuals.

 

Harm? To your wallet and the smoothness of your rides.

 

Lubes should be applied after a long ride and left overnight if possible. cheers.

The other side of the chain is tough man...very small space to insert the tube. Thanks for the clarification.

 

 

Bro, the can got illustration lah...but it juz points to spray on the chain front and back. :\

No wonder I have been lubing my chain religiously, yet chain still cannot make it. :\

 

im using maxima chain wax and with side stand. i tried spraying alone and its difficult. i tried squatting right behind the bike and using my right hand to tilting my bike by pushing up my pipe.

 

i was left with single hand to hold the can and turn the wheel. and i only can spray on the orings facing outside. not like as the picture shows where the can is spraying the inside of the orings. is it ok?

 

or any other recommendation for singlehanded side stand bike?

curious to ask, can apply grease to chain. as grease will stay on longer then any spray oil.

 

it will sure be messy and dirty but for those using the whole chain cover kind (honda wave) is it advisable to apply grease. as the all the messy is contain in the chain cover

if u apply general grease, the grease will harden after contact wif water..

and the grease will attract all kinds of debris that will wear yr seals if u using o/x rings chain.
