i recently just bought an Aprilia RS125 y2k model rectifier and was hoping to get it fix on my KR. But the sad part is, no bike shop knows how to fix it. AHM Performance bike shop told me about the wiring of this rectifier is like this;

4 yellow wire= charging

1 black wire= positive or negative (i cnt remmber)

lastly 1 blue wire= earth.

But Kr only has 3 Charging wire and 1 positive/negative wire. No earth wiring.

If wrong install, it might spoil the cdi and other wiring..

My fren got used tat rectifier on his bike but he did it at jb. i got no time in goink jb so anyone here could help?? recomment any shop that knws how to fix this??

Any advise?

u can ask yr friend to bring u to the shop in jb or let u view the arrangement on his bike.

y u want to use aprilia rectifier on a kr?

Theres a purposes bro.

Gain more electric flow,

with correct blok porting and carb setting,

using this rectifier could gain more horsepower..

Its something like doing grounding but slidely better..

This is wat most mech told me..

Correct me if im wrong.

Thanks..

Can you find the service manual? If you can look at the electrical diagrams and show it to the mech. But wirings are quite standard I'm sure any experienced mech knows which to hook up.

And again, most mech says it could be done but the outcome could be dangerous as if wrong fixing, combining wire, wiring and so ever it could damage/drain the batt, cdi and most part of other wiring.. Thats y i cant hands-on with this thing alone..

evendo by looking or following wat my fren has done could be more dangerous.

i dunno if the benefit is worth the trouble and risk.

personally, i'd rather change carb, and the ignition system as a whole.

i hear boy in kallang is top in doing krr.

his workshop is opposite lim ah boy's

Typically, a rectifier has 5 wires, three wires for each phase, and the other two are positive, and negative.

If there are only 4 wires, then probably the body of the rectifier is already negative ground.

Any mech with some electrical experience should be able to sort out the connection.

My advise to you is to stop going to this mech who is giving you rubbish ideas.

Wah bro you go which mechanic ah? First time I hear rectifier is used to gain more horse power! You can actually google the meaning of rectifier and what it does. Here is a very simple explanation of what a rectifier does:

Motorcycle rectifiers/regulators

if u want more electrical flow..u can just simply change the fuse to a bigger capacity one..why go to the extend of the rectifier? can damage your coil and your battery must also change a notch or two higher..

Thanks for the help guys.

The mech is no other thn sum1 in the forum too..

Dun want to mention who lah, let it be..

Im selling off the rectifier soon..

The Aprilia magneto has 8 coils,4 wires out.. I would think the KR will either have 6 or 3 coils since it's got 3 wires out..
