Hey guys dun cancel the track day even if there are only 3 riders going down. Go and enjoy urself on the track. Most impt is not the no. of guys going but at least a Fazer in on the track. I would like to join in if I can but I dun have annual leave like most of u guys. My leave is only during the school holidays so that means next weekday leave is during the June holidays.

Today when I went down to pay my instal. I had a chat with a guy who just paid a downpayment for a 'guess what' , a Fazer. But he's waiting for the FY plate so it will only be out in April or May. The price was $17.3K otr at De Xing. So the Fazer family is indeed growing fast.

Ride fast but safe.

For the best hard run in go to the track with kenny. But for soft run in dun let the rpm go above 5000 and play around in all gears from 1st to 6th but within 5000rpm. Hope this helps.

haha.. well.. my bike is 3 weeks old.. hehe.. I took the hard way...

Whack to about 7k on the tacho on the first 50+ miles.. let the engine rev high.... low gears though.. so that you dun get caught.. hehe...

change mineral oil

then ride as per normal, with occasional blast.. I had my blast on the NSH on the way to malacca... heheh.. come back, ordo about 600 miles...

Change mineral oil

Then ride as per normal oledi lor.. hhhehe.. change engine oil again at about 1200 miles...

Change to fully synthetic oil

bike now at about 1500++ miles.. I think.. hehe....

Fuel consumption think averaging out at about 18km/L, which I think is very good for a litre bike.. hahah.. mix riding, jams, highway cruising, occasional blast.. hehe...

Congrates on getting your bike and ride savely.. dun be like that idiot who langa my rear wheel cos dunno how to control bike..

redzwan,

I saw your post and remember reading about something similar. I think you should check out this web site http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/.

It is an excellent Fazer site with lots of instruction for self repair and modification. It also has lots of pics on mods. If I am not wrong , there are also instructions on adjusting the Exup valve.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone here is selling any parts/accessories (like hugger, bellypan, pipe.....).

Thinkin of buyin some stuff. Anyone know if there are any shops in Spore bringing in Pyramid stuff?

Also, does anyone have experience buyin accesories direct from Hong Leong? How is their service ( do you get what you ordered without problem?)

Appreciate any feedback from all the Fazer riders out there.

Hi Bro..

wah u mean brand new bike i can drag until 7k rpm?

wouldn't that be harmful to the engine?

How about speed? Should i keep below certain speed during this period?

Cheers

one thing you must take note off is the headlights, they are rather bright and lord knows why they are place in such high position which can cause discomfort to others. You can try to adjust the lights but its still just as bright.

Had a lousy experience recently with a SP kia (somemore still on probation) who was pillioning his wife(which is pregnant). Was travelling behind him as it was late at night and dont feel like going fast. however, guessed that he must have felt my headlights are iritating him. So what he did was to let me pass(while I was already travelling at at 70-80 max) and went behind me while having his Hi Beam on. I decided not to race with him(dont think there's any race to begin with anyway) and proceed to the lane 2 so that he can have the lane 1 by himself. Seems that little prick just want to play punk, he kept staring at me and kept on going behind me to Hi Beam further. In the end I couldn't take it anymore, dropped gear untill my speed was only around 40kmh. That *prick finally gave in but not without leaving a stare while passing by.

Its too bad I forgot to jot down his licence plate so that some of you who knows him can advise him what a *prick he was. Pillioning his wife whom was already pregnant, and trying to play punk on the road. Our roads are better off without these uneducated fools. But I do hope that he will come to his senses and not let his emotion take charge.

**so please ride safely with due consideration for the safety of others as well. We might have a fast and powerful bike, but we are more experienced, see more accidents then any of these pricks, thats why I could not see any point in racing with him nor challenging him to a showdown.

if you want me to answer, you should be able to safely clear the meter.. the owners' manual advise you not to stay at certain high revs for prolong periods of time.

If you are thinking of running-in in terms of speed, then you are heading towards the wrong track. running in is the process where you let the engine vary its speed. Therefore it has got nothing to do with speed to begin with...

The DISrecommendation is to stay at a certain speed on the expressway and try to hit like 1200miles and declare the running-in over... that is utterly stupidity cos your engine gets to work onli at a certain RPM and probabaly your bike will also onli feel smooth at that RPM.

so just safely get your bike and let the engine run along the numbers of your tachometer, ya... 5k is 120km/h on my bike, so even if at a relaxing ride, following the owners' manual, you wouldn't be going against it.. ya...

Dun need to think too much.. the main thing is let your engine breath freely and remember to change your engine oil more often at the inital stage.
