eh.

I think better to put the thermostat back.

Its not good for TLRs to run too cool i.e. below 80 deg C.

Anywayz, just remembered. There's a mechanic at Bukit Indah (just before Perling). Shoei will remember him. 2_Wheeler brought us there. He used to be a mech at Looi's before leaving and opening his own shop there.

It seems he's also familiar with TLRs. Many SG big bikes go there, including Goldwings.

I've asked him before. A top overhaul (replacing pistons and piston rings) ard 400-450 Ringgit (labour). Parts have to buy on our own. He seems trustworthy. So this might be an alternative solution.

wow, replacing piston and pistion ring consider full over haul, need to re-run in the bike, the labout is cheap, but the part will be quite ex if buying new piston...

Hey, guys....I experienced a problem with my bike today...help me diagnose what is wrong...

My suspicion is that one of my spark plugs is dead.....

It was raining today...so i switched on my bike, and rode off already...without warming up...10m away, i came to a stop because of traffic lights....i thought rev my engine a bit to warm up the engine....rev a while only suddenly pop pop pop sounds....

moving off, bike became weak...the sound from the pipes also wierd....like missing one beat...its usually bup bup bup fast and fierce, but now its bup...bup...bup....skipping one beat like that....on top of it all...got petrol smell also...but i checked but its not leaking anywhere.....

I managed to ride slowly at abt 40kmh(to be safe)...becoz sometimes i believe the plug manage to fire, and got sudden surge....and got home...rested the bike for 3 hours...before restarting again...same problem still...bup...bup...bup....no strength like that....

Now what is wrong???....spark plug gone??...i using denso iridium bought and installed at Looi's leh......so lousy quality meh???? wtf???

yo bro i cfm tat one of ur plug is gone and u just need to start the bike and c which of header pipe is not hot . Trace it and u will know which plug is gone. :goodluck:

hum...labour is quite okie la.but u need to drp the whole engine out if doing a top

overhaul

althought i believe he is skillfull enough, i rather give it to ah lai.u can trust him coz he has lobang for parts.

esp performance parts like high com gasket and stuff.gg to do mine over his place.

he charges very reasonable price too and its more convenient to drop by and learn a few tricks from him

wat the meaning of top overhaul leh? do top overhaul will do?

mi not thinkingof overhaul yet.....thinking of brakes n handling first sia

if ur bike is over 100,000km do up the top overhaul first.its actually a safety issue esp if u like to bring it down to the track or like high speed(>150)

doing the top overhaul every 100,000 km is good coz u can replace anything that is spoilt early and u can detect any problems with the bike.its not good to ride knowing that ur engine is not in tiptop condition

brakes and suspension is also impt like what u said.

:D

ya i forgot
