Suzukiroy,

Is that the picture of your TL in the footer of your messages.

That's the colour scheme of my Bandit (hence my nickname....) & I intend to get the TLR respray to that colour also....hargh!

yeah that my TLR. cool. i love it black. hope you can get yours black too. that will be wonderful. same as shoei too. hehe.

280km oh my god. :faint: Serious? For us, we calculate by the first blinking of ur reserve light. Sometimes i will go till 210km before it starts blinking. Sometimes ard 190km. Worst case ard 160-170km. I think i will nv ever reach 280km for one full tank of petrol. 250-260 max. Like that must have spare petrol somewhere to top up already. hahah. This monster drinks petrol like water.

Hello TL Riders,

I intend to get a TLR which my friend is selling. It's a Jan 2000 bike and he intends to sell it for $7K. Is it worth it?? Bike is in good condition however some glitches with the sensor cos morning got problems starting with cold engine. Aside from that, it's a beauty...(Love the sound of the pipes & the torquey engine!!)

Anyway, does anyone have any lobangs for 100% financing?? I intend to get a higher loan if possible (cos I wanna change the sensor which costs $200+ and I wanna respray the bike to my fav colour) probably around the region of $8K. I'm a 31 yr old civil servant with stable income (last year $42K annual income...) I'd appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction.

With a bit of luck, I might be joining you guys in this forum more often...

Cheers...

Depends on what accessories there is. Maybe you can list out some of the accessories that cums together with the bike. Then we can roughly tell you if its worth that kind of money. Anyway you decided to get the bike? Just need to find a financial company i suppose. Hope you can get your hands on this beauty.

This beauty has problem waking up in the morning. Doing a + mod will help it start up easier. No worries.

WelCome to the FoRum !!

Yup, I sure do hope I can get my hands on this beauty knowing that it has one of the best V-Twin engines in the industry (Cagiva Raptors, Bimota SBKs, Kawasaki KLV's & Suzuki's own V-Strom & SVs are using versions of it)

The bike itself has been involved in accident quite some time back however has been nicely redone & repainted in GSX colours (Owner cannot bullshit me cos my other colleagues testified....hargh!! Busted!!). The owner does not have a girlfriend (not good looking fella...hahaha!!!) & the bike is as good as his lover cos he maintains it well. Hence pillion seat has never been used cos the seat cowl is always on. No mods & the bike is fully stock. I've taken it for a test ride and the bike is oh!! sooo sweet!! During a recent trip to Malacca, he hit 290 km/h on it (The other superbikers attested to it...)

But is this fully stock bike worth the $7K price tag?? One thing's for sure, it's within my budget of below 10K and well within my means but I don't wanna get knocked up and wanna get my money's worth (so I can respray the bike with the extra cash....hargh!! hargh!!) Any suggestions, guys??

if you crash...at least got run-off... won't be smashing your face against guard-rails design for cars but deadly to bikers...

and yes... can lean bike safely and use up a very very under-utilized part of your tyres..

Brother thanks for the info. I've been on that website before also cos I wanted to know more about the bike before buying it.

That brings me to the question of mileage. I went to suzukicycles.org and there was an article from 1998 on the TLR's review. The bike's tank is 17l + 4.5l reserve. During the review (which I presume was half the time on track & the other half on road), the consumption was 14.7 km/l. That should equate to 316 km on a full tank. However, the fella who's selling me informed that the further's he's ridden before topping up is 280 km although he says can go a bit more. Any of you guys have better mileage than what I quoted??

Anyway, any idea of good bike financing shops out there??

definately a no no.tlr will run flat at ard 250km.

serious.

how much is a pair of new mirror in singapore?

the bid price may go up to US80, if singapore selling this mirror for $20, it is not worth the hassle to order through ebay, the item may break during shipment, no warranty....

no point.no one uses the rear brake too much.ours is good enuff,

if u wan change the front calipers to brembo ones.im sure its better investment.
