maybe nxt diy session can go back to the basics like checkin the cork, bypassing cork, how to change bulbs, mainstand techniques, lifting bike up from ground when dropped(need sponsors for mattress or cushion), removing and reinstalling windshield. sometimes we tend to neglect the most basic n seemingly easy things.

i myself nearly gotta ride mine without windshield when i dropped a locking screw near the front headlight. it got stuck in the cables. even got the thought of putting the bike on the ground to find the screw. :faint: so paiseh... hahahaha

Hi, thanks, your blog make me narrowed done my sport touring bike choice to only one, ie STX1300. Will install a rear top box too for pillion if i get one.

Thinking of getting one soon, either brand new (heard can get OTR 25-27K only) or a good second hand one. Which shop in SG should i get for brand new one and that is well versed and sincere in maintenance of the STX (besides Boon Siew). Where can get original STX 13 rear top box?

Can cruise control be installed? (full function type, similar to car/goldwing)

btw: is the facelift coming to SG soon which come with rear LED lights?

Hi Alphard,

Ha ha. Thanks for reading my blog on STX13.

My aim wasn't to say buy ST13 or to say ST13 is the best.

I merely wanted to point out what I really felt, the goods and flaws. So that other people can go assess themselves if ST13 is really suitable for them.

In fact, I prefer that the no of ST13s on the road remain as current so it remains quite an exclusive bike :cheeky:

Thanks for posting the image of the "tail-lifted" ST13. There doens't appear much changes except for the tail unit lights changed to LED. That's the thing I like of Honda ST13. The bike still looks the same and retains value :cheeky:

3 years ago, I was waiting for the ST13 to go LED. But I waited and waited and it never came. The wait was so long and it seemed ST13 never was going LED. That's why I bought mine VICE. And honestly, I realised I was waiting for nothing. Because the current ST13 tail lights, though not LED, was already very bright. Brighter than many other bikes'. My Fazer's tail lights get dark and dimmed after a couple of years. My ST13 is already 3 years old. Still the tail lights look as good as new. :thumb:

Which shop maintans ST13 well?

I don't know of all. I know of at least one. I go to Looi's Motor who sells lots of tourer bikes who are regular customers for decades and sells lots of ST13s. Their bikes are from Boon Siew but cheaper.

Their chef mechanice Meng Tong worked on lots of ST13. I know when he personally installed a pair of aftermarket Hella horns in my ST13. I was talking to him and he shared with me his experience on working with other ST13s.

I don't know where to get top box. I am happy with a twin box for now.

Hi Simon or anyone who could advise me on this...My temperature gauge on the front panel doesn't seem to move at all even after I've ridden it for half an hour or so...I went back to the mechanic from where I bought the bike, he turned on the ignition and the needle did move slightly and he said it's working fine...Is it normal to stay that way unless I rode it for hours? Pls help...Thks in advance.. :)

Hey rideral, my temp needle also dun move much, only when i'm stuck in a jam on a hot afternoon, then i see the needle move alot hehehe. I think the thermosat and the coolant would play a part in this, maybe you have very good coolant hehee :cheeky: :thumb:

Thanks for replying...:thumb: I thought mine was abnormal...It only twitch slightly upon ignition on and then never move even after riding 30mins or more...guess it will only move up when really really hot...:) ...So far I'm enjoying the ride so much...:thumb: for ST.

Hi Simon...Mine remains below the thicker white line at C even after I just came back from JB and had been riding for more than an hour or so... I think confirmed something spoilt...Also earlier while riding to JB, the front got some metal sound like the radiator metal loose sound "ting ting ting" but not sure if it's from engine or not...Haiz...The bike shop never checked properly for me...Disappointed...Tomorrow I'll be sending my bike to my trusted mechanic for servicing and check up...hope nothing serious...

very pain-stalking if either one of its component not working properly or isnt there.
