Full cost price for bike

Hello, I’m a foreigner who’d like to buy and ride 2nd hand bike in Singapore for next 2+ years. Could you please help me to calculate full price for bike (cost price + road tax + COE + some registration fee + number plate + etc).

 

For example: If someone asking 3k for his bike what does it mean for me? That shall I do next and where? If above mention bike have COE till 2012 and road tax till may 2010 is it included to that price (3k) or shall I pay separate for that? Another story with the number plates. I’ve seen that someone selling with number plate but others without. That does it means? If you can provide me with the 'Buyers guide' it’s really helps me coz I tried to calculate my budget.

example: bike price 3K, COE 2012, road tax may 2010......

- 1) Firstly u'll need to buy insurance coverage under ur name for the bike.

* price will depend on ur age, riding experience, bike model/type and

coverage needed.

2) u will pay bike transfer fee to LTA, unless seller agree to absorb the fee

or indicate bike price is inclusive of transfer charges.

* transfer fee varies between different bike.

3) u pay pay 3K to the owner.

U will be able to ride the bike till may 2010 before u need to send bike for inspection and renew road tax. Cycle will continue untill 2012 when COE expire, where u will need to decide if u want to renew bike coe, if u want to continue riding....

where....depend on which insurance...NTUC, Mitsui etc.....

LTA will only proceed with transfer of ownership upon proof of new owner insurance coverage validity for the bike, so....it's the first thing u have to get done.

dont be like that.. which shop will advice for such customer.. rather they charge administrative fee..
