Bro, u just sold your urs and now looking for one?

Best thing to do is to call HL or go down to their showroom. Mr Lee will be able to help you with your questions. ABS is an option. You should be able to specify whether you want it or not when u buy.

All TDM900 in SGP will come from HL no matter where you buy from. I have yet to know of parallel imported ones. So all will still carry the HL warranty :thumb: .But just make sure b4 u buy. It really does not matter which shop you buy from as long as you are comfortable dealing with the shop. HL is a fine place to buy but when I bought my TDM, the shop I went to gave me a better interest rate than HL, so I got it there. Loois gave me the same quote as the shop I bought, but I dun know loois guys, hence I stayed with the shop I was comfortable with since I know them and my friend works as a mechanic there.

Hello everybody,

Need advice on whether is possible to fix handguard on the TDM 900 and where to get it. Was wondering also whether can change the original handlebar to a "fancier" motorcross handlebar. :)

Thks.

Thks.

Of course its possible. BMW1150GS handguards will fit. You just need to tap (thread) your original barends to be able to attach the handguards. You can get from Performance Motors or M-Technik. Another TDM rider I know has Touretech handguards fitted. My guess is that Acerbis handguards would work as well. The TDM850 can use the BMW F650GS handguards which is seen in the picture yappiez was refering to. The F650GS handguards will not work on the TDM900. Touratech you got to do online purchase. Acerbis, you can try Chong Aik or 'Auntie shop' at Lavender rd.

You can pretty much change to any type of handlebar you fancy. No limitation except for the bar diameter that you might want to take note. I fitted a F650GS handlebar on my previous TDM850. It has a crossbar and has a higher rise and wider. Depends whether you want a sportier position (low & forward) or relaxed (higher and upright) or dakar (wide & high rise for standing on footpegs hahaha)

Guys, I have lost faith in my previous mechanic and I need to find another one that at least knows a little on the Tdm900.

Can those riding a 900 reccommend a place to go?

Posted

What happened? Just go back to HL. They can solve your concerns if there's any. Plus their sales manager is riding a TDM900. I am confident they can do a good job. Of course those straight forward things like tyre, brake pads etc can go almost any bikeshop you like.

Thks for the info about handguard and handlebar.

Have seen the Touratech handguard on a BMW and it looks pretty slick and slim. Will definitely want to get one of those :)

When I asked HL abt TDM900 with ABS a month ago the answer was

"optional, will have to be ordered individually" = 3-4 month delivery time + a couple of 1000's extra

Hopefully this has changed...

Hi TDM bros, with your experience on TDM, hope you will be able

to help me solve these 2 problems.

1) I recently bought a used TDM900 and went to JIC Amk for inspection

and was told that the plastic registration no. sticker on the

windscreen was an offence and will be booked by LTA on the road.

However, nowhere can I find a suitable place to mount the normal

plate. Can anyone tell me where to mount it with spoiling the

beauty and its performance or post a picture of it?

2) To pull the bike on the mainstand is a great effort

and yet not successful for me. Nowhere would I be able to

get a good grip and hold to bring the bike to its mainstand despite

using my whole body weight and strength.

I am not tall or heavy, just 165cm and 56kg

All the info u needed are in the TDM Yahoo group.....

Anyway, read this abt the inspection--->Inspection story

Abt the mainstand, I have the same problem. Tied a strap near the pillion foot peg to get the leverage. Will try to post pic.

Better yet go join the yahoo group and u can browse the pics there.....

Hi, I'll be getting a TDM850 as soon as I pass my class 2. TP coming soon but I've already book the bike. 2nd hand at $8000. Mileage is about 25000km.

Zero accessories though. Will look up you all for advice once I finally get it as I would need a main stand, panniers & boxes and a higher screen.

Thanks. Hope to see you guys soon.

Cool!! Goodluck for ur test!

It's not easy to chooose TDM given the choice available in the market but I'm sure you'll grow to love it more and more just like the rest of us...

See u soon! :)

For those who want to know the OTR of TDM900..

Any of you guys hang out in the Yahoo TDM group?

Yahoo TDM-SGP group

I registered a couple of days ago, and it still says "Your membership is awaiting approval by the group owner "...

Or this is the place to be?

Both places are fine actually. The yahoo gps is members only to prevent a large group of non-TDM owners crashing in and not participating in TDM specific discussion and create a mess out of it. Dun worry, we make exceptions too as well for to-be TDM owners ;) This thread provides quite a good discussion on the TDM already. Have a read, we'll be glad to help if you have any queries that are not covered. :thumb:
