Hey guys.

I wanna know the legal colours we can use for our number plates?

I heard it's either white font on black for both or black front on yellow for the back and black front on white for the front is it? Or am I wrong.

Can someone please advise? Thanks a lot.

"We would like to inform you that the vehicle number plate shall be placed not more than 1 metre from the ground in a vertical position. The number plate normally has white, silver or light grey letters and figures on a black background. However, if the number plate is made of reflex reflecting material, the front number plate will consist of black letters and figures on a white background; and the rear number plate will consist of black letters and figures on a yellow background."

What crime? What fine? What music? You're assuming a lot here. I was just asking because the bike I bought was installed with the white and yellow number plate, and the owner told me that it was legal. I just wanted to ensure that this is correct, so I do not get into trouble.

Totally not worth to give $70 away just like that! Painful ah. Ya I found out already, it's okay (legal). Maybe if you wear a yellow helmet? Can match. But yellow helmets are usually not nice.

Just wondering how they decided on white and yellow to be okay? Like what are the reasons for it.

Actually, there's a sticky at the top of the section, which I missed out the first time. That's why I created this thread. But if you really want to know, all the information is there.

hmmm, only certain colour will match with yellow plate,,,

Ya only certain bikes will match with a yellow number plate. Fortunately, I think my bike looks quite good with the yellow rear number plate, so I won't change it!

Okay if that was your intent, then I sincerely apologise for misreading your post and misunderstanding you. The way you phrased the message seemed like it, but I'm sorry.

Anyway, I don't think it's nice to change/alter number plates also. No point, so no worries, thanks. Anyway, I've checked and rear yellow with front white is okay.

Thank you.

Woooh chill. dun get so worked up.

But the thing is that i heard from someone, not sure whether its true or correct. They say that the White and Yellow combi can be either front or rear. But one must be Yellow background and the other White. can anyone confirm it?

I think the most important thing they look out for is the Font of the lettering.

Cos i think alot of ppl complaint abt the metal piece for the front as its too big piece to be hanging with bracket. Well i think its a gray area but if your size and the Font is correct i dun think they will bother so much on that.

I think they will notice loud exhaust to stop for rather than to concentrate looking at the Number Plate. Hahaha. But if the fellow kana stop have illegal exhaust and not correct number plate then kana fine X 2 Hahaha...

Nah I'm chilled already, relaxed. Anyway, I don't think that's true. The front must be white if the rear is yellow. That's the only combination allowed, cannot switch around.

Anyway Bernard, I realise I see you quite often around in the forum. May I enquire as to what bike/bikes you're riding?
