Hi guys, my bike just got stolen today at jusco, i jave a few questions hoping to have some answers from the fellow bros here.

  1. Since its a old bike and the coe is not renewable(as the previous owner renewed only 5 years of coe), can i just scrap the bike with LTA? BTW, it still has 3 more years of life spend.
  2. I would like to retain the number plate, can i just retain the number plate with the bike scrapped? How long will the number plate be valid if i were to be able to retain it without the bike?
  3. Will i need to report the loss with the SPF? i have already done it with the malaysian police.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and regards!

Dude,

I had my bike stolen from JB Southern City two weeks ago. You still have to lodge a report with the Singapore Police and subsequently report the loss to LTA.

You cannot scrap the bike as there is no physical bike to scrap. You have to wait about 3 months, go to the M'sian Police and obtain a letter to affirm that the bike still hasn't been found. Then, go back to LTA and they will de-register the bike. The pro-rated COE will be refunded to you as long as you have no outstanding installments left to pay. You have to check with LTA if you can re-use the number plate. However, they may not update it on the Malaysian side if you reuse the plate and the new bike may be deemed as stolen. Best to get a new plate.

Thanks bro, i've clarified with LTA, need 3 mths to deregister the bike, thereafter, just need to go down to lta with the original police reports to make a claim of pro rated coe. as for no. plate, only can wait for 18mths, after that, can write in to lta to retain the no. plate. Sorry to hear your loss bro, what bike is this?

It's a VFR. But no worries. I've got it covered by insurance & got a replacement Triumph.....

So, there's some solace at the end of all this.

Same story over and over again,SG bikers going across the causeway especially in JB and getting their bikes stolen, even with tons of locks and alarm systems, the bikes still get stolen.I say once and for all, stop going and less chance your bike will get stolen.i agree that in SG too the bikes can get stolen, but since you people still want to go for cheap makan, petrol, servicing etc then this is the risk you got to take.Car owners are also included

Rides from 1991 till current:

Kawasaki KDX 200

Yamaha Rival 125(Stop production)

Suzuki TS 200

Yamaha TZR 125

Piaggio Corsa 200

Vespa Exclusive 2

Honda Wave 125

Honda CB400 Revo

Yamaha FJR 1300A

Bro,no need to steal, the simple answer is to boycott JB and in the long run they'll feel the impact.

well as long as is bike they will just take to sell...

well not that everyone keen to go jb but sg is just too small to move around.

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?
