Redname: Nice sky there! Loving number 2 though the background could be better if there's only 1 sampan or none. Can't be helped though.

Number 4 is great as well. (No. 3 can't be seen?)

But the beach seems to have quite a number of rubbish.

PBbombomlee: Learn and fully understand the 3 basics first, Aperture, Shutter & ISO. Get familiar with them and u should see improvement in your shots after some tweaks. And the rules of 3 as well.

I also newbie that started not long ago. Have fun shooting!

haha, nvr take note of the sampan actually, was overwhlemed by the skies.

think you refresh again can see #3 bah.

yah, #4 got lots of rubbish but it's really a beautiful place with the rocks

Playing with DSLR is already so expensive. SLR is much worst, except that lenses are cheaper? But the film & developing cost is tremendous if like me noob every time testing exposures. But must admit DSLR users are very trigger happy.

I do it with prime lenses! U really make extra effort to compose and think hard before triggering that shutter.

wat's the focal length you are using?

u can try UWA lenses for this purpose because there's so much space in the frame to cover, you really gotta think twice for composing if you want your pic to turn out gd. i'm still in the process for this part using UWA lens

35 & 50mm F1.8

Good and cheap enough for me to learn.

No more budget at the moment. I am still comfortable with using the kit lens 18-55mm for land/cityscape. Maybe u can let me try out if have the chance to go shooting together, haha.

Looking forward to what Nikon has to offer this few days.

Just a humble D5000. You? Are you with Nikon in the first place? haha. AF lens no problem, I have to use manual focus on my 50mm anyway, just very slow lar!

Then you must be a hardcore landscape shooter with only UWA. I usually bring all my lenses out when I shoot since most are light and can fit into my backpack. Newbie is kiasu one.

I see. Looking forward to D90 replacement like many are anticipating. If the specs are good, might consider to upgrade. Or maybe grab a D90 if the price continue to slide even more. :D

I also tend to favor a little more to landscape. But I typically shoot almost anything that comes interesting along my way. Hoping to get a ND110, CPL, etc once I fix my target on a UWA. Damn xiong on the wallet, one step at a time, no hurry anyway!

P.S. Are u still riding ur DRZ?

there are some rumored specs for the replacement liao, go search internet can find. D90 is a gd enough camera for me, won't change until they can come out with 1 tht's really gd yet with the same weight as D90.

i want ND110 too but really very ex, so looking at the cheapo tianyas as replacement 1st. Get a UWA bah, my composition became better through shooting using UWA cause of the amount of space. once u can compose well with UWA, the restshldn't be too difficult. CPL not much use for UWA lah, i rather use HDR.

New model come out, people dump D90 mah. Might be a good chance to grab one. But I keep telling myself my pics wont improve with this upgrade. Only able to change settings much faster and easier plus the internal screw drive and better ergonomics.

Got to save up slowly. Been buying some and resisting since the kit lens is still serving me very very well for my needs. That's the virus Clubsnap has. BBB virus very strong there when you see so many of them having those expensive lenses. CPL more for getting rid of unwanted reflections. ND110 want to get also hard, very rare. HDR? I still too noob for that. I don't even shoot raw. Training myself to get everything right with Jpeg. PP softwares are still an alien program to me. But I know I have to learn it after some time in this digital world.

Haha, I was the CBR rider together with my VFR friend that helped you out in one of the R&R when your alternator/coil? was giving u problem on your fuse.

got many reasons for changing cam body lah, myself i change to D90 cause of better ISO as i need to take lowlight action shots.

jus stick to having the lens (or lenses) tht you'll need for your fav type of photography. I regretted getting my 50mm cause seldom use.

HDR is High Dynamic Range, not a master in explaning so you might wanna look it up at wikipedia. the main reason why i use HDR is tht i'm able to achieve a well balanced pic between the highlights and shadows, i use tone mapping also to enhance the color.

i respect those who shoot Jpeg cause i still shoot RAW as i can do adjustments if needed esp for white balance. my knowledge and usage for those software are minimal.

oh, of cus i rem you and your fren. wah tht day really drama
