I kinda wondered that myself. Of course the sells guy promised big time but I am also skeptical. Lets be honest here .. the busa is plenty powerful enough stock. Unless one is into racing there really is no need to go more such a full exhaust system plus PC.

My knowledge of this bike is also limited and that works against me. So I think truely I am probably at the end of my mods for the bike and will instead practice better riding skillz.

do you agree?

yupz.. definitely better to polish up on the riding skills.. no point in having so much power when it can't be fully utilised.. :thumb:

There's no replacement for displacement except for a blower

I have always wanted to visit Thailand. I love the culture there and have always been fascinated with the country. Who knows, maybe my travels will one day end me up there. :)

I appreciate how friendly everyone here has been. I am glad I joined this forum :D I hope to get a better insight into the busa but my time is pulled in so many directions with work plus I am helping my father who is ill and trying to spend much time here with him before he passes away. I am deeply troubled by this so this year will be tough but I also have great hopes and plans for this year to.

But back on topic here...

I agree that sometimes you can "over power" a bike and if the rider is not ready for such an extreme machine then it becomes dangerous. In the past I have had a Katana 600 and moved from it to the busa. So I am still learning this bike and my own limitations to such a powerful bike. I have much to learn..lol.. but I can say that its been really fun chroming the bike out and making it more personal. I doubt once I am finished making it my personal looking bike I would ever sell it. Funny how we get attached to such things.

Anyways.. thanks again guys.. I look forward to learning much from you all :D

i used to clutch in wen going over a hump..but only recently the engine kept stalling. Rpm will drop to abt 600 and stall. K1 model, Mileage is abt 135k. ive done 40k since i got it abt 2yrs nw. Pull to 300km/h few times a mth but not for long run. No mods..evrytin stock.

Standard engine maintenance.. oil change evry 6 - 7k, spark plug and oil filter evry 2 servicing. Batt used for abt 2yrs nw.

Have a feeling that my piston bearings are wearing out, timing chain off. Coz theres a heavy knocking sound when i engine break at low spd. im still new, haven read up much.. so not sure abt the matter yet.

Tinking of doing a major overhaul.. wat should i consider?? Thx for the reply.

Did u check the dealer mod ? what is the error code and the position of the TPS ?

Sound weird, never come across such cases

Wah i was doing a mental calculation of the cost (base on rough estimate) as i read your post.... that's gonna cost a bomb~! :faint:

Anyway, when do we need to overhaul our engine? Base on mileage or when the engine starts to have problems?

Based on you lor, you happy then overhaul the engine :p

Mileage roughly ard 100K, wait till engine got problem then change bike liao ......save the hassle

Question...

Do you guys listen to music while you ride? I do sometimes but like I've said before, we have long open roads here so you can ride at a comfortable speed without really running into other cars on the road. So i bought some speakers for the helmet that fit up inside it and then plug them into a MP3 player.

Not sure what your laws are concerning that type thing there or if thats something anyone would feel comfortable doing. For me its nice because the ride can get so long and somewhat boring its good to have something to listen to.

Same here.I love to ride listening to MP3 the feelings good.I did ask our local traffic police they say its not an offense but its not advisable.:)

i forgot to mention..my idling is abt 1000 rpm. wen it goes over d hump, it will drop to 600rpm den stall. i noe its normal to stall wen d idling is too low.. however it didn use to be dis way..only recently.

Tried to adjust to abt 1.2k rpm, bt engine will still stall..though nt as often..

i use to have it when i set my idling to abt 1K abit too low then when i set it up higher, all ok.

have u done any clutch bleeding or?

like the pressure nt enuff to cause it to be fully clutch in thus the stalled.

i did my overhaul not too long ago..

changed pistons, rings, decarbonise the head, clean up exhaust port, change conrod and crankshaft journals (bearings), replaced all the water hoses and water pump, changed the transmission shift forks, transmission bearings, put in new set of transmission, considered to have swapped out most parts of the entire engine...

also i've change the entire wire harness and ECU... and all the bearings you can find on the bike along with the sprockets and chain...

that's a full overhaul and it's not cheap...

so see if you really interested in "overhauling" the engine... :goodluck:

yoz

u got the part from sg or online?

do a compression test first follow by a leak test..

then decide if you need to open up the engine... :thumb:

hey bro getting more power out of ur current setup shld not be much but a tuned bike shld be making ur ride very nice to ride too.

ya agree on practising up the skill.

and knowing my bike more whenever the engine starts.
