Talking about GiPro.... which mapping do you guys usually use? Mine has map 4,5 and 6 (i know later version has up to map 7 or 8)

I have been using map 5 most of the time... what is the particular use of map 4,5 and 6 respectively?

PS: when I fixed my GiPro I thought it was only a gear indicator, so didn't know much about it...

map 4,5 and 6 means showing the 4th, 5th or 6th gear to ECU so it derestricts it.. :p

There's no replacement for displacement except for a blower

What happens when the ECU reads the 4th, 5th or 6th gear map and derestricts it? Is it like if i set it at 4th gear mapping, the ECU derestricts the 4th gear then i'll have better/faster acceleration... then when it derestricts 6th gear, then I'll have higher/better top end?

And 5th gear mapping I suppose is a balance of both?

If this helmet is below 1300grams, I am a confirm buyer. :D

Sorry, me and my big mouth.

He got the book, you should have bought it cheap from him. :D

I DO NOT recommend the N102 - N103 as they are too heavy. My current N102 weight's 1987 grams. Is a good helmet for those (like me) due to their job commitments need to be contactable 24/7. Otherwise there are so many better (lighter) helments in the market. I've tried to buy Schuberth helmet which, to my opinion, is the best in the market. Unfortunately the basic Kit and Bluetooth can ONLY be fitted in Germany by certified workshop. Impossible to be fitted by any individual. Already called Schuberth in Germany and they said so. Now I have to wait for the Nolan N103 to arrive to Singapore. Likely my current Bluetooth for the N102 fits on the N103 as well. I have to buy the "basic kit" thou. The new N103 is quiter and has VPS inside the helmet unlike the N102 that is outside, however is same weight as the N102.

wat... , u need the hardcopy ? I got 3 sets lying around.

Do U need the 08 one ?

Thanks Bugsy, I've already printed it out. Now I have to bring it to a shop for binding. Unless you have for K6 which I guess it will be the same.

I do not need for K8 for the time being. Most likely for K9. :)

the different gears give different ignition timing as well as redline limiter...

therefore choose one which gives you better feel/response..

even for the K9, it should be still using the same service manual for the K8..

For those who want to see the K8 in real life, there is one (black) at I-Motoring.

Ok, thanks .. it doesn't sound too bad. I will give it a try.. here is the one I am thinking of getting..

The GIpro is a Gear Indicator with built-in Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator. This combo unit is not only the most advanced Gear Indicator on the market, but also the best TRE device available for selected Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles.

Gear Indicators compute gear position from engine and wheel speed, while the GIpro reads the Gear Position Sensor directly. This is why the GIpro gives faster and more reliable readings under any conditions.

The built-in Advanced TRE improves part-throttle response in lower gears. It will also improve low end torque at full throttle and disable the speed limiter on certain bike models. By default this function is turned off, and can be activated by the touch of a button. ATRE combines all the benefits of different types of TRE available today, in one single unit.

ATRE is a Switchable + Remappable + Smart + Automatic TRE.

Auto Brightness Controller ensures that display brightness is always optimal. The sensitivity level can be even fine tuned if desired.

The GIpro works well with, or without other aftermarket electronics, such as the Power Commander and SpeedoHealer.

The unit installs in about 10 minutes on most bikes and works out of the box. No cumbersome learning process is involved.

Great choice,great stuff.:thumb:

okie dokie... I'm sticking to 5th gear mapping for now... 4th gear mapping too much torque for me... :)

kaieiru, nice blog there.. I link you in my blog hor....

Busa highspeed wind force togather with that N102 1987grams enough to break a chicken neck ...

Just a joke ... :sorry: ... Me and my big mouth again. :D

No problem at highspeeds. No problem on touring either. A bit heavy but I got used to it.
