Hello All Busa Riders.

I got into an accident with my 4 month old Busa 2010 last month and now the bike is at workshop. There are scratches at my front fender, front fairing, L middle Fairing scratches and crackes, engine casing scratches to the max and cracks as a result leaving engine oil to spill out by itself, broken cluth lever, scratched side mirror, scratched L side exhuast.Bike is currently at my lawyer's contact werkshop at AMK. I cant remember the name but this werkshop open until 11 plus and does harley davidson bikes.. Sound somthing like Sun-sumtin...

The problem i have now is the owner of the shop gave me two options..

1) He will fibre the affected fairings, respray them to the original colour at Teo Spray, replace the clutch lever, mirror, engine casing to their originals and give me Legal GPR full system exhaust with cert and installation at NO ADDITIONAL COST.

OR

2)Everything change to original parts and give me GPR full system exhaust with cert and installation but i have to top up Additional $900.

As this is my first accident and claiming and all,im not sure what is the real procedure when it comes to my situation. But i need some help in clearing my doubts. As the first option sounds very very tempting,by 'repairing my damaged fairing', will it still be as strong as before? will it give way in any possibilities shud i go high speed or touring? Or if let say i suay the bike fall on the left side again due to my carelessness or accident, will the fairing cracked again..?And will the colour differ much from the non-affected unchanged fairings eg the right side of the bike..??Finally,if any of you are in my position, what will u guys decide...?

The shop is giving me until end of the week for the first offer.I would gladly appreciate your feedbacks regarding my dilemma. Hope to hear from all soon.

Take Care and Thanks Once Again.

Your bike is 4 months old. Still got many years ahead.

For me, i will go for option number 2. There are too many parts and stuffs to ensure a good work done. I like to have everything original so that its easier to 'TALK' to them if there are any problems later. At least i can say its original parts, why got problem etc etc. If fiber is done instead, they may just say this is how fiber is done. not long lasting etc etc. You know how motorshop twist their words when confronted with poor workmanship

Its best if you could sit down with the mechanic and discuss further on the breakdown of parts, and separate out what is necessary to be oem parts and what could just be re-work.... you could end up with a better bargain.

Went 2 the shop again till nw they are analyzing the problem. they double checked the coil & rectifier & its charging. They are checking if there's any leaking anywhere. My bike was previously fixed with an alarm but the previous owner didn't take out the whole wiring. could tat b the prob? thx

i believe there is a current leak. go thru the alarm wiring and remove all related connection.

min would be signal light, power. check these two.

cause if the person cut off the line without removing it. there maybe leak from there to your chassis.

gd luck

Check the alarm wiring. My friend faced exactly the same problem as yours. Took out the alarm. Ok liao
