Vespa PX Owners Club? Kakis?

Just back from a nice ride on my Vespa ... but seem to have intermittent left signal problems. Front ok but rear is the problem. Works sometimes especially if i revv hard. Right signal no problem. Took out left cover and cleaned the contacts still the problem is there. Could it be the signal relay??

 

Anyone can help?

Could well be the relay... but I'd suspect a contact problem more...

 

yours is a PX or equivalent?

 

If yes... then check the part where the cowl "plugs" into the frame.... the pokey bit makes contact wit a spring loaded hole in the frame... it sometimes needs some wd40...

I think ur right (again) ... spring loaded hole? Checked but no spring la .. maybe thats the problem huh ... may need Tong Aiks help ... yes mines a PX and a new one too ... thanks bro.

Yo sharpey ... identified the problem ...

 

informed that its a manufacturing defect - poor bulb holder to wire contact under the cowl ... Lee Huat identified it is a second even without any tinkering around.

 

Fixed it temporarily but told me that it may return ...

Anw residing in Bedok reservoir, just got my vespa from my colleague... n did it up again for the engine n body slight mod... but yet to send for spray job. Meanwile just ride it to werk n fro ...

hey guys, know of any place that does not charge too high for the replacment of cross gear? my scoot will jump from gear 2 to gear 4.i understand that to change the cross gear, mechanics will need to dismantle part of the engine and that might result costs up to 200++.

i have a mech than charge u cheap for that.But he will only be introduce by the people he knows. He can help u.His workshop is at eunos.Operates only at night. U can pm me to know more.I surely can help a fellow vespa!

to be honest... if the shiftcross needs changing, you may as well do a full overhaul (anywhere from 3-400 depending on shop) There are other parts that need to be changed due to wear and tear.... No point spending half the money and only getting half of the work required done...
