can someone tell me what will happen when bike have not finihs run in and you change engine oil and wack them?

nothing will happen... all new bikes are already pre run in at the factory... but if you whack so hard that the bike cannot take it then of cos it will spoil...

anyway wrong section..:cheeky:

bro, i do not agree, i understand that factory had already pre run in for ard 500km or more, but still imo i think its safer to run in till 2000km or 3000km, some might argue 500km, i heard of 300km too.. actually it all depends on your wallet.. i had a fren who got a spark and that very night he got it, he drag his max for like 5km. nothing happen.. but *WHAT IF?

my wife just change her piston and i told her to run in 3000km as well, it may be tough but after this period u can wack as hard as you can as long u use a good 4t/2t..

just my $0.02 cents..

You decide.

On the little Y125Z that I race at Pasir Gudang.. run in for a new piston and engine block is only 2 laps...mebbe 6 km or so at 9000 rpms on all gears... after that is whack full throttle on all gears up to 11,500 rpms.

So in the end... there is alot of arguments of whether there is a need to run in gently or run in hard. All my bikes are run in on the tracks with no problems at all.

Running in is to seat the piston rings against the cylinder walls.. and the best way to do it is with alot of load acting on them... which only can come with high rpms during hard accelerations at high gears.

Having said that... I will not be responsible if try it this way with a 2 stroke bike.. coz if your 2T pump is not adjusted properly... you can seize the piston.

My Y125Z is using premix so cannot seize unless tuned too lean.

i think what most manufacturers do is Break in the engine, not run it in as they only start the engine and ride it on the factory's motorcycle treadmill for less than a minute to check for free rotation of all moving parts. for a lousy analogy, they do the penetration once and you do the subsequent screwing  running in (for the traditional method) requires clocking mileage with frequent gear changes and varying rpms.
