Got fined $400 by aljunied town council for parking my bike at a common area

1st offence is $100, then $200, 3rd n final offence is $400, after that is go court. I kena until $400, then i take off underwear surrender liao.

 

$1000 is kena $400 dun want pay, summon go court dun wan go...that one my neighbour kena liao.

 

that is what i experienced. but now ERP, COE prices shoot thru the skies, i also dunno.

 

Go see MP (Money Problem), in the end he will tell u MP( MUST PAY )

MY FRIEND FOUND MY BIKE LYING ON THE FLOOR AND PICK IT UP FOR ME AND INFORMED ME IMMEDIATELY...

I'M TRYING TO FIND THAT CULPRIT WHO HAVE KNOCKED DOWN MY BIKE..

IT'S NOT BADLY DAMAGED BUT THE COST OF REPLACING THE DAMAGED PARTS IS NOT CHEAP!

 

I'm hoping anyone who stays near my area and have witnessed the event kindly contact me at 9007 3854

 

The area is the carpark between blk 109 and 110 Serangoon north ave 1.

I'm absolutely furious with the stupid town council.. honestly before they start slapping people with such hefty fines.. shouldn't they have taken a look at the parking situation first ?

 

My area here the parking situation is crazy... bikes are parked everywhere.. cars are parked at ALL HANDICAPPED lots.. and the recent conversion of the bike parking lots made it worse..

 

I've wrote a long email and attached my season coupon and photographs that i've taken of the current situation to them..

 

If they choose to reject my appeal .. i'm going straight to the MP and news stand..

 

Yah but before i go to the MP i wanna hear their explanation.. it's ridiculous man.. even HDB summon ppl for illegal parking also $25 only.. since when has such an offence reached up to $400????

 

You should see my side. All the car taking advantage of car renovations. All park like they own the place. Handicap lot also park. finally saw one tio but next day the same car still park there. went home around 12+pm to get something, one dumb mpv parking the bike lot and handicap lot at the same time, I look around and the carpark is super empty lor. Some idiot even parked blocking 2 bike lots and near turning points. simply bochap lor.

 

if $400 is serious enough,u should see my $1000 fine for parking at common area also...amazing!!!

the thing is where did you actually park?

$25 fine i guess is for parking not inside a parking lot (still on road)

but your case seems to be parking under void deck or walking area right? i believe the fine is always that heavy for parking in such places..

Good to suck lor, just drop limited lots, issue unlimited COE for vehicles, bound to have mismatch supply. Then start sucking, got pay season also fine, dont pay season also fine, no matter what, be prepared to be suck dry. Bottomless pit.

After reading this thread i feel fortunate getting only 100 bucks fine from town council. Parking next to MDIS where the public carpark always full.

i went to the mp right after i received the revised notice.. because im not happy paying that 200 ..

firstly, i didn't parked at a void deck.. but it's an area right beside the construction site.. the TC calls it GABLE END...

every night my parking lots are filled and the motorcyclist at my area forms a virtual parking lot right in front of already parked motorcycles..

i went to the mp and made a scene.. but still it's useless.. they just said.. "we'll write in for you"

 

2 weeks later.. they came back with a reply that my fine was reduced to $50.. but the thing is i'm not willing to pay a single cent..

i've paid for a year's worth of season parking.. they couldn't provide me with a proper parking lot and yet they fined me for parking somewhere else..

 

i've wrote in to question them that why on earth will i want to park at the "GABLE END" if i already bought a year long season coupon.. that area that i got caught for wasn't even sheltered nor was it near any pedestrain walkway..

 

this is ridiculous!

Stick to your principles, Exu. I'm with you coz Town Council not providing you with a lot even though they have collected your season parking fees.

 

Have you written to newspapers yet? If not, its probably time to do so. Send them all your pictures and correspondences. Hopefully, readers who are on this forum will then write in to support you. I know I will. Then use the feedback from the newspapers to write to Town Council and MP one last time to make your case.

 

 

Only problem now is that they may take you to court, which means you'll have to waste time attending court hearing and be subjected to honourable judge's decision. Any lawyers here willing to represent TS pro-bono?

i had quite a similar scenario as TS.. same problem, heavy constructions and bike lots converted to car lots. Thus many have to park illegally. & my 2 bikes have season parking, but i received 4 x $100 for each in 3 months. total of $800..

 

this is TAMPINES Town Council if any of you guys might ask. appealed 3 times, all replied with the same template of "dangerous to park in common areas blablabla".

 

Fed up i attended 'Meet the people session', and only 1 summon get waived, 1 reduced to $60. & the town council representative told me, no point go to court or use lawyers, you will never win.. besides, lawyers fees arent cheap.. i suck thumb and paid $640 in total.. now i always park in front of my dad's car, or make my own imaginary lots beside bike lots dat are occupied..

 

but i tink making a point in the papers will do some good...

Eastpoint..opp where the mscp is,there is the walkway where bikes used to pArk.now they have put up a sign stating no parking..fine $1000!!

now no more bikes park there.

yeah..dats a common area.now they have converted the pavement into a grass patch so if bikes still wanna park there,n the grass gets damaged,get your wallets ready
