what type of engine oil u using...mineral, semi-synthetic, or fully synthetic?

what bike u riding....?

For me i'm using fully synthetic and i change every 5K or 4 months whichever come first as i rarely ride....

1993-Yamaha LC, TZR

1994-Licence Revoke

1995- Honda MBX, RXZ

1996- Vespa

1997- RXK, TZM

2002- Phantom 200

2008- Toyota Axio(Car)

2009- Toyota Axio(Car) & S4 Vtec 2

2010(current)- Fazer FZ1N & Toyota Axio(Car)

do read up more on oil (read up uberstore tread / internet)

 

there's a myth about oil interval change ....

Also depends on type of bike.

 

My rule for 2 stroke kup racing is change EO every 3 months. Apparently this is quite a 'normal' interval for typical road use. Never complained even if I didn't change for 6 mths.

 

My rule for old Phantom is play by ear because she's a prissy mare and will yell loudly at you for using old EO/never check oil level weekly, etc. Also because I buy this bike to run at max power & play with settings DIY so change every 1500km with motul cheap oil. Which is tofu smooth but shears down really fast. But cheap! Good!

In general servicing for bikes are pretty low, so it's better to do the servicing more often rather than less often.

 

Technically you can run fully synthetic EO till about 5k on most bikes, but it never hurts to change your EO earlier. I change mine every 3k on fully syn.

 

Usually doesn't cost more than a 100 for most brands. IMO maintenance is not something you should stinge on.

do it every 3 to 5k. oh and don forget to change ur oil filter as well on every oil change. some ppl like to do it on intervals.
