Hi Guys,

I have a Bajaj Pulsar 180. Recently I have noticed that the idle RPM is at 1k while starting the bike, but after a long ride(15-20kms) the idle RPM rises to 1.5k when I stop at signals and also the engine feels very hot. It is an air cooled engine.

Recently I changed to Putoline Engine Oil 20W50. I am suspecting its the oil change that is causing this.

Can you please suggest is this normal?

Thanks in Advance!

Very normal. I got it on my bike too. Usually it happens when you've been on the road for very long/rev at high speeds. Give it like 5-10 mins. The heat would go off. If it persists, go to Mech. Might be carb at fault.

Don't argue with an 18-wheeler.

Regarding your Carbs ,go get it retune, the EO should not mess with the settings of your air and fuel mxture, usually when tuning, the engine must be hot and running for the mech to acquire the rite air and fuel mixture at 1k rev.1.5k is too high.aniwaes if the mech says he have fixed it and it is still the same way .it is maybe due to failure of coldstarts if they set the tuning to 1k rev.goodluck bro!!!
