Hi Fellow riders,

I beleive that Rusty gas tank is common on most 2nd hand bike.

 

I would like to ask if anyone have did diy cleaning their gas tank before?

 

One of my friend which is a ex mechanic ask me to fill the gas tank with hot wwater and shake it before drainning it. Is there any methods??

 

Aslo will the FC increase if yur gas tank is Rusty ?!

One of my friends use air-con cleaner, that contain a bit of acid, to wash his petrol tank.

 

Rusty petrol tank will contaminate the petrol. Rust will choke ur carb.

u can install an in-line petrol filter to provide rust & any particle from going to ur carb.

Ya but whatever methods i think it's only meant for a short period of time? You can't make a rusty tank like new right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Cus my mech say cant do anything...

there's a few way to clean it....but unless u can spray anti-rust inside u're

tank(which as i know is impossible), it will come back. another alternative is to always top-up full when bike is half empty....slow down the rusting process....
