Based on the testing session, Rossi seems to struggle on the duke as compared to Stoner who already set the standard on board the Honda factory machine. Hopefully he can tame it by the time next season starts.

I have always wondered whether the wins are attributable more so to Rossi or Yamaha. I suppose the moment of truth is upon us now. Exciting stuff, and a huge gamble for all partes involved.

huh? The yamaha was a slug when Rossi came on board as Max couldnt set it up nor anyone else before him. After just 1 off season Rossi and JB instantly turned a dog into a GP winning machine and they have never looked back. I am 100% sure that his first ever win straight up in South Africa had ZERO to do with the yamaha and everything to do with the rider and mechanic.

Rossi was testing the Ducati with a broken down shoulder and was more intent on gathering data so JB can tune it in for Februrary in Sepang, watch the times on the last day of testing in Sepang next year, oh and the first race in Qatar..happy to put money on it if you want.

True... Rossi is good at development... Furusawa listened to him and they

turned around Yamaha's terrible no hoper into something that handle

fantastic like the Honda...

Quote MASAMO FURUSAWA

"I would like to thank Valentino Rossi. I was in charge of Yamaha

MotoGp starting 2003 and it was a terrible year, almost like I was in

hell and I wanted to make the YZR M1 a better bike but more and more I

investigate the bike I needed something else more than the bike. So I

found Valentino Rossi pretty close to me but the first time I did not

believe Valentino would come to Yamaha because Yamaha was a terrible

bike and Honda was a fantastic bike. The after we invite Valentino to

Yamaha we finally come up from the ground and then after South Africa

in 2004 I felt like I was almost in heaven. So from hell to heaven

very exciting and memorable year. So in 2004 only Valentino Rossi

could win with the YZR M1 so he contribute a lot to develop the YZR

M1. This year not only Valentino but also 3 riders run fast so this

year our YZR M1 is a pretty good bike mainly Valentino contribute so I

really appreciate that Valentino contributes.

"Basically the engineer design the bike but the rider talks a lot and

even though the rider talks a lot Valentino is special. He is almost

like analyizer or engineer and we talk with each other so frequently

but timing is a little bit different but talking the same. he is so

precise, we always check the computer with data, sometimes I make

mistake, always Valentino is correct."

When Burgess speaks people listen...

Evaluating the Yamaha M1 after 2 wins 1 pole 0 championships...

"We identified fairly early what the problems were. The bike was developed by

two very good 250 riders. No slur on them, but what you want for a big bike,

a 500 or a four stroke, is something different. All bikes operate within a

circle, and the circle wasn't anywhere near where I felt it should

be... To ride one of these things, you need to have enough feel to get

the bike to slide; you must be able to feel your way into a slide and

then back out again safely."

Evaluating the Ducati after 23 wins 21 poles 1 Championship

"For sure we've understood that to make the Ducati turn, you need a bigger

effort than what Valentino was used to, physically too, and we didn't expect

that. This bike is a lot more physical, the way to make it turn with the

required precision is certainly the thing we must focus on at the moment."

“The Ducati is more physical to ride than the Japanese bikes and

turning the bike is one of our issues we need to improve,” You have to

force it a little more and that probably added some stress that we

didn’t expect to be there. We didn’t want to push into any areas of

risk.

Which one sounds closer to the mark???

“But Valentino said the bike has fantastic rear grip and that the engine is terrific.”

Rossi likes his first impression of the Big Bang V4 with the 360º crank...

Either way no matter how you look at it.... The 2011 MotoGP is going to be a very interesting year!

Lorenzo is on the winning Yamaha... So he is the one to beat!

Ben Spies will be on a Factory Yamaha improving his chances on getting more podium finishes! Go Ben!

Danny Pedrosa is the fastest honda rider out there. They found more Hp this year but the bike doesnt seem as settle or smooth like the yamaha.

Stoner moving to Honda should be interesting!

Divoso has his hit and misses on the Podium for Honda, but he is in the top 5 usually.

Nicky on the Ducati.... he has his ups and downs... He is still coming to terms on his Duc! But doing a little better.

Rossi on the Ducati will be the one to watch. I am hoping he comes out like he did when he went from Honda to Yamaha. Rossi and his crew seem to work well together, and I would like to see them tame the Ducati, and stick it to yamaha/Lorenzo....

I know people maybe tired of Rossi... But he has that magic that others seem to have a hard time finding! Even after a broken right leg... he rides well enough to place in the top 3 or 4th in the field. In the end of it all I would like to see Ben for the win! With Rossi showing he can tame the Ducati with his crew and take it to Lorenzo.

Either way we are all in for one HELL of 2011 MotoGp year!

Rossi not the kind who would play safe. When he went to Yamaha, Yamaha was not as competitive as Honda. Everyone knows that he's capable of winning the title,it's up to Ducati to perform. Been following Gp since the 80 s and I think he's the best rider of all time.
