Hi guys,

if it is of any interest, i was down at Mah a day or two back,

and saw a used red VFR on sale.

Condition is not exactly something to crow about.

FW plater, sales guy mentioned that it can be sold for $9k+.

He claimed that currently is 2nd owner, and mileage

about 60k km+. Model is definitely 2000 or b4,

cos pipe is not underseat.

But some damages to the front left mirror and back light.

Cheers!

Because of him the lame walked briskly,

And the songless through him burst into melody.

ok here goes,

this is the 1st time my VFR is giving me problem...

while i was riding, i trottle the rpm till 4k - 5k but the increase in speed is minimal. it is as thought there is a drag or powercut and same thing happen on every gear....

and sometime when i rev to >6k rpm the rpm will drop back to 5k... any advice?

You suspect clutch plate worn off?

When is your last EO change?

What EO are you using?

i change my EO every 4500km - 5000km.

currently using Esso 4T Gold, 10w40

i guess most prob its crutch plate worn liao...

cant believe cause been riding for less than 1 yr and under 12000km.

guess i had to adopt another riding habit.

by the way, does the air filter need to be change and at wat mileage?

Well everyone has a diff riding style. Your might just happen to take more toil on her.

As for air filter, this is what I do. Follow the manual mileages for 1st removal. Then INSPECT. if neccesary then change. This way, you know whats the mileage U need to change in your riding style n conditions. The OEM filters are not cheap. If you ride alot in dirty conditions, you might find its needs to be change much earlier.

My is pretty OK at 24,000km. But i changed it anyways.. Thats how i found out the price! :giddy:

VFR tops sales charts

Honda’s VFR800 is currently the most popular new bike in the UK.

The do-it-all sports tourer has proved so popular that 184 were sold in January this year, beating it’s nearest rival, the Kawasaki ZX-6R, by 52 sales.

Sales in general were up 10 per cent compared to January last year with scooter sales still lagging and dragging down an impressive 13 per cent increase in bike sales.

The popularity of the VFR is held up by our own figures, which show that it was the fourth most searched for bike in our Bikes For Sale section last week, receiving 597 searches.

Nice pipes, Rick...

Hey, did you spot me somewhere? Was installed with lots of help from hamsterz...Just came back from vicom. Not that noisy. 87dB at close to 6K rpm. LTA limit is 103dB. That was with the silencers. Think I need to mod my silencers a bit.

To test if your clutch is fried

1. Start bike and warm up.

2. With both wheels on the road, set it to 1st gear.

3. Grab the brakes to prevent the bike taking off, rev up the bike and slip out the clutch gradually.

4. If the engine kills suddenly, the clutch is ok. If it rambles on and die down slowly -your clutch is fried.

Haha - ya sounds like and if can still do burn out - then clutch must still be in good condition. but actually, jus need to rev up to about 2500 to 3000 rpm enuf for this.
