Does anyone else think the 50 post required for Garage sale posting as excessive?

I'm sure the mods have a reason for implementing a minimum post for creating threads on the garage sale section. But I'm just thinking whether 50 is a little excessive. Normally 10 post or so should be enough to ensure its not an account created specifically for sale posting.

 

I've been frequenting the forum for a number of years now, although I very seldom post, mostly I come in for info gathering.

50 is quite fast actually. Poke around in the bike owners' club, chat away here, disturb the technical boards, you'll get 2500 in no time :3

I don't think is excessive. At least this establish the potential TS as a regular, than some hit-and-run seller or people who create new accounts, to reduce liablity and responsibility.

that's a good one but back to the point..

 

suppose its to safeguard potential victims if you know what i mean..

 

ppl pose as "buyers" come down see bike, then tomorrow wake up "eh faster call ma ta, my moto ho lang kan kee liao"

 

mods can use the ip address they frequent & help track those "buyers"

Many users fail to see deeper in, by implementing this rule, it gives us a lot more work as moderators to answer every single user who does not read the rules posted clearly and PM us.

 

The 1 month and 50 post requirement is there to protect the legit forum users from spam and dubious transactions.

Actually there's a group of users who go into forums mainly to browse and find information. I'm not really interested in joining casual chit chat threads, or specifically finding posts to flame.
