its quite an extreme 2b sport bike.

Great for sport riding, Not suitable for transport. Haha.

-Handling very precise, sharp and stable.

-Brake very good.

-Very fukking forward postition.

-Need to corner properly, canot anyhow turn.

-irritating for pilion.

-rear seat easy to lost

-hard to manouver in carpark.

-spare part expensive and more troublesome to get.

-hi revving and quite fast.

-no kickstart.

-tyre same as class2a, a lot of good model to choose from.

-rossi used to race it.

Bottom line, if u got the cash, its a really good toy.

hmmm...

the Cagiva Mito is probably the most complete 125cc 2 stroke sports bike you can get... (the RS125 riders will disagree)

I used to own one and had amazing times with it. While the bike did give me a few problems, i was fine with it as i was more or less prepared.

Pros:

1) Excellent looks. Definitely a head turner

2) Rare

3) Its ITALIAN

4) It looks like a Ducati 916.......

5) excellent high rev performance

6) handles like a dream

7) great on the track

8) excellent brakes that you wont find on most 2B bikes

9) stock steering damper

10) etc etc

CONS

1) Its more expensive

2) fuel consumption is high

3) parts are not cheap or easy to find

4) There arent very many on the road that are in good condition (the ones that are are...naturally...pricey)

5) Not all mechanic's have experience on it

6) not much power in low rev unless you change the sprocket ration tremendously

7) not very agile for street riding (very agile on the track though)

8) its a 2 stroke so its noisy and needs the good ol' 2T

9) etc etc

in response to KeraKing

-Handling very precise, sharp and stable. (its true)

-Brake very good. (its true)

-Very fukking forward postition. (its true. The posture is actual race position so its better on the track but sucks for everyday riding - you will eventually get used to it)

-Need to corner properly, canot anyhow turn. (its true. you need to counter steer to U turn properly)

-irritating for pilion. (tHis one is very true.....its not design for pillion comfort cos ppl usually dont take pillions on the track BUT....a chick on the back of a MITO looks amazing)

-rear seat easy to lost (Also true but simple measures can prevent this... I lost mine on the way back from NSH)

-hard to manouver in carpark. (Only in the beginning la)

-spare part expensive and more troublesome to get. (If mantained well, it wont give you major issues. But parts are really hard to come by)

Overall, its a great bike if you can afford it.

It depends on what you want. You want something uncommon and cool that you can take to the track and do not want to rely on it as a transport machine then the MITO is perfect.

typo error

Its not about hard you can hit, its about how many times you can take a hit and remain standing

wonder how it fares against my pgm.

me thinks mito is more focused than pgm..

The Mito handles better than the stock RS due to it's better suspension. The RS has softer suspension for road use. Uprate the suspension on the RS and you'll have 2 bikes with pretty much the same cornering capabilities. Personally, I prefer the RS due to a better riding posture. Looks wise, the Mito is a winner.

And if you have cash to spare:

- 39mm Keihin PWK Carburettor + KTM 125 Manifold

- vForc3 reeds

- JM Corsa system

- Zeeltronic CDI

I always had a soft spot for the mito because it looked so much like a ducati 916 when the 1st version came out way back. I definitely agree that it looks sexy just standing still.

The machine price is higher and so are parts. Running cost wise, it isn't that much more expensive. Insurance for this bike is actually about $50 less than the SP, $400 less than for the RS and $500 less than the KR.

There're 2 groups for Kawasaki. Kawasaki bikes themselves have a low insurance rate with the exception of the KR which is in a seperate group right at the top.

When I last checked it was $838 for the Mito, $888 for the SP, $1156 for the RS and $1300 for the KR.

The Mito...that bike is superb! I would get it in an instant if my body could handle the racy posture. It is miles ahead from all the rest in my opinion.

Hi guys, I have a friend who recently got his Mito but is having a hard time with a specialised mechanic and parts. Can you guys share where you used to send your Mito for servicing, repairs, tuning and all? Thanks in advance.
