Cool, didn't know Location application can do that! Will try it. The HTCsense? Only roughly tried it but I know they can't know the actual location unless your phone GPS is on and lock on to the satalite. Or else they can only use the broadcast station to know the rough location. Maybe 100m radius?

 

i was impressed by the advertisement video.... check out htcsense from 6:20 onwards

btw.. handfree speaker sucks :p

any cool app ?

 

been looking for pc, webcam, media player control but most are trial versions...

 

happy to see DHD is highest benchmark of all ..

ok... pretty same to me... + FREE ANGRY BIRDS... wahahaha

 

try google's goggle.. app will take photo and search relevent info online..

another cool app is metal detector.... they say it's not fake but can detect metals..

SG android weather really slow.. :sian:

 

i saw in HWZ that someone "rooted" DHD.. any comment ?

Oh ya Angry Birds also. Plus Angry Birds Season! hahaha.. But I seldom play it lah.. The metal detector thing is very old skool liao. That time I bought my Hero, got it already. I tried it and it works! As for the rest, I tried to keep my DHD with minimal app for faster loading etc.

 

Root arr? Never thought of it especially with DHD. It is already blazing fast enough.

im not much of an IT person so im not aware of the latest products but the DHD really amazes me and makes me keen to get it! the map function seems to be really useful to me considering the number of times im lost on the road wondering where to turn :/

hey guys i know that the gingerbread OS is yet to come but probably try rooting (jailbreak-ihaveacommonphone term) your android phone and try downloading cyanogen.it makes my phone pretty fast - nexus 1

If you use the built in navigation app, you will still need to pay after the 30days trial. Unless you use the direction function, not navigation, which is free.

whenever i go to navigation app, it says "google maps navigation is not available in this location" :sian: not even trial..

Google navigation is still on beta stage. Not avaliable for Singapore. Think whole asia as well. However my brother managed to unlock it using a guide online for his Desire, not HD. But I have read up google had released a patch to counter the hack. Didn't check with my bro.

 

However if you use Google navigation, you will still have to use data which is not okay for overseas usage.

 

Got my Otter case. Now my phone is like a tank!

you mean loud speaker volume ? yes it is lower than others (iphone for example) too bad for people who wants to play loud music on MRT...

 

but normal phone speaker and earpiece are good enough :thumb:

droid is good in many ways.. (Except apple's marketing)

 

1. able to view flash, many apps are free (not just trial or lite, full version)

2. able to customize and change themes and outlooks, auto-synch contacts with FB, Twitter, Flicker and phone no.

3. able to synch with other nokia, SonyE, motorolla, apple,

4. able to plug and play to PC (no need itune)

5. best thing is DesireHD comes with pre-loaded maps for GPS.. no datacharge for oversea..

and many more... =P

i am using cheapo ebay casing with screen protector =P

 

just found out if you press volume control and power key together, flash light will light up... :p

I tried using QWERTY keyboard on different phone, (xperia) not that easy to type...(at least for me)
