Guys, any proposals for bike insurances...

Surely the big boys offer overpriced...

Any suggestions of companies to get quotations from?

it depends cause i got a better offer from NTUC compair to some company by $70

really,

I always thought they cut a high margin

Posted

If the excess is much higher then it would be totally not worth it to save the $70.

other than looking at price, u should also consider whether the policy allows u to go to your choice of workshop, if u r getting comprehensive plans; some plans restrict u a list of authorised workshops.

the worst plan is the one where the insurance company tell u which workshop to go cos that's usually the shop that bid the lowest (open tender system). to protect their already lowered margin, u get "½ past 6" repairs :(

at your age and experience. most insurer will quote u sky rocket price.

juz call up the few insurer that cover bike. quote your age and bike(age of bike and model) and u might see some quote might be damn high while some might be lower.

price wise u must pay since u wan to ride. this one no choice one.

btw no such thing big boys CONFIRM are expensive. even small player might be more exp. depend how they set their premium only.

i've just email ntuc and msig but msig seems have not yet replied my email. im awaiting for ntuc but anyway, I wanted to ask which insurer usually do new riders go for? especially those with 0 experience and below 20?. and if theres such thing as what most bikeshops go for too...? I really hope this is a valid question thought....I'm still new to this.

no clear answer de. best is to call all possible insurer and then compare which u prefer in term of price or other condition.

end of the day most ppl just see price lah.

plus u p plate and young the $$ will be damn high.

the high premium is expected mah...

then again if i do background research and comparison, might save me some $$ abit rather than blindly just get one for the sake of riding...

anyway, I expect my premium to be $800 to 1k but hopefully theres hole somewhere for me...

but not by email lah. call up, juz provide them the inputs and they will count the price for u le.

its like current car insurance, juz fill all the required portion, u can get the quote instantly online and even renew, juz an example for car lah.

anyway i think more than 1k for p plate and under 21. if sports bike like nsr/krr 150 etc should be higher.
