i will be doing a 525. don't dare try 520. want tell me got what pro and cons?

Hi Shauz,

Dont be afraid to do 520 conversion.. As long as its a rivet type 520, and properly rivet with correct riveting tools then it will be fine.. Do NOT fix the clip type.. Usually when doin a conversion, most will opt for the DID ERV3 chain.. This chain, ive personally use and eventho at high rpm most of the time, ive never do adjustment of the tension.

When using 520, there will be more options for sprocket size.. Then, if u often go riding with Mr. KAMBING, UP the rear by 2-3 wud help make life easier for u.. hehehe.. :cheeky: Or else on the safe side, stick to stock gear ratio wud be my best advice for the R1..:thumb:

the bad thing about wax and grease is that is attracts too much sand..

WD40 is a De-greaser leh.

but i guess if u constantly re-apply, it shld be fine.

Personally, i only use it clean my chain n sprocket.

Aren't the sealant supposed to be orange colour?

orange mainly to apply on side engine covers, usually not used on sports bikes but on off-rd bikes

hey guys, a question to ask, currently riding k5.can anyone pls tel mi is really fixing a PC3 in out bike wil make our bike smoother dan usual? i m tempting to fix one, but i need to find out more wat can e PC change e performance of our bike?? heard from pple da PC3 can really make ur bike smooth and those with back fire occuring often, if better for them to install one.

wil there b any difference if i m buying a second hand PC3 to fix compare fo e 1st hand PC3??

advice needed. thanks a million.

If your bike is in stock , i wont advise you in getting a PC3, as ridng our k5 stock would have been very good already, although our stock bike come lean on the AF. But if you have spare cash to spend on , it would be very good also, as it would fine tune the AF ration and make the bike more smooth in the throttle respone. Normally, ppl will fix the PC3 as some mod have been done onto it, and running on the stock ECU map wont help you to fully gain the aftermarket part power or performance. And if you have only change the exhaust, it better for you to fix the PC3 ,as by changing the exhaust, it make our bike super lean, which is not good for the bike, that is also when you encounter alot of back fire.

A new PC3 would cost about 680 plus tunning now.

And like what retro have say, fixing the PC3 wont help, you need to dyno tune it to suit your bike. So if you intend to get a 2nd hand PC3, you need to get it tune.

One more thing , one of the best mod i feel on my bike, is the factory pro V-stack(more $$ to BHP worth than a slip on exhaust). Just by fixing it, without any tunning, you can feel the low and mid range power increase, but will suffer abit on the top end.

Yeh, nothing like a clean looking chain.

but wont WD40 spoil the O rings?

I have been using kerosene to brush the chain off all the grimes and old lube. then spray on the ususal chain lube. although the lube says it wont fly, it still gets on my rear cowling and swing arm...darn.

anyway i also heard its better to lube the chain when its hot. any truth to that?

:p
