Got a problem here, hoping fellow R1 riders can give some comments.

 

Sometimes when riding, the rpm will just drop. The feeling is similar to me closing throttle when i didnt. My natural reaction would be to turn my throttle to stop the rpm from dropping, however there is no response coming from my throttle no matter how much i turn. I quickly clutch in and turned the throttle. Surprisingly when i clutched in, the throttle came into response. Occasionally the bike will die off even if i clutch in. When the bike dies off, I tried to clutch in and press the starter button while moving on expressway, but there is no response. Its only when i kicked to neutral then my bike can start.

 

My bike is a y2k model, hoping fellow riders can give comments on what might be wrong instead of me going to shop and changing things and the problem still persist. :weep:

April 2004 - June 2005 : Honda NSR150SP

 

June 2005 - August 2006 : Honda RVF400 NC35

 

August 2006 - Present : Yamaha YZF-R1

Hi bro, is your R1 fuel consumption high in the first place? Or do u have any idea how much is your fuel consumption?

 

cause the only thing i can think of is that your bike carb's jetting needs to be changed. that's why the idling dies off when idling. u couldn't throttle cause the jetting is somewhat stuck or maybe worn off.

case 1:

 

bro,did u tried cleaning n oil the airfilter by urself??i face the same situation when i over oiled my filter....bt my engine choke once the bike starts....lasted for abt 2 days of ridding then its back to normal....

 

case 2:

 

i do my self cleaning of carb...then dunoe accidentally adjusted wat thinggy tat coz my bike to drop rpm whenever when it hit 5k no matter which gear im in....ride to the workshop...then found out tat i narrowed my air vent or dunoe wat it call lolx...

 

abv is juz my exp when ridding ts 00R1....hope it helps u...bt no fear if u r bringing it to the wksp coz ur mech sure noes wats wrong....good luck:cheer:

However, it is with much regret that we have to postpone the BIG BIKE CONVOY to a later date due to the security concerns with regards to the IMF.
