i tink the power cut canot be removed leh...the power cut is in the engine. how to remove? :sian:

to remove it, use ivan's performance TRE(timing retard eliminator).u will feel different immediately once installed.ur engine braking is more smooth(no jerkiness when u close throttle).i've installed it and i feel tat its worth my every buck....

pardon me 4 my ignorance, I still dun get it.

wat does the smoothness & jerkiness got to do with the powercut in the engine?

u mean juz by installing TRE, the powercut is removed? dont tink tat's wat the article say leh...

In engine?? Thought onli mechanism in it? Tink it the ecu or those 'cpu' kind of things that control the 'cut'? :cheeky:

Found this on the website. It actually a gear indicator plan. But with a slight modification to it, you can add in a TRE function to it. http://www.bluegauges.com/gearindicatorplans.htm

gd website. but it is in NY. the blue/red light gauge :thumb:

Ya. I'm trying to make one gear indicator w/ TRE version. Maybe add in a voltage meter lump together. But I'm not so electronic/electrical incline. Have to get my friend to assit me.

Hey MC28,

Hows your gear indicator coming along??

Anyone interested in going to Malaysia makan tonight? I'm going in thru 2nd link around 11pm plus to pump petrol and also for makan, maybe at perling.. short short trip. Anyone wants to come along? Can reach me at 97692898. Mark here.

Hope tis answers ur queries...

EXPLANATION:

Your ECU (the bike's fuel injection computer) takes readings from the sensors on the bike. Things like RPM, intake air pressure, throttle position, and the like, and computes how much fuel to inject into the cylinders to make the bike run correctly.

At any rate, when you are in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gears, the computer figures out how much fuel to inject as usual, but, to limit torque, it backs off this amount and / or closes the secondary throttles a bit to limit your power. This is to keep torque down when you are in the lower gears. I guess it's to keep you from zipping around on the streets or whatever. It doesn't do this in the higher gears, because if you're in 4th gear or higher at low RPM's and nail it, you don't have much torque anyway.

The gear position sensor is a variable resistor. When in 1st gear it's like 500 ohms. When in 6th gear, it's about 15,000 ohms. So, if you clip the wires going to the ECU, and hook up a 15K ohm resistor, the ECU *THINKS* you are really in 6th gear all the time because it is sensing 15K ohm (6th gear) of your resistor rather than what the GPS is actually reading. So, when you roll on the gas, it puts out the full amount of power the engine is capable of.

That's basically the gist of it. It makes a difference in the feel of the bike. Ever notice that in 1st gear, you can rev to around 3K RPM, then nail the gas wide open, and the bike sort of hesitates? That is because of this built in retard. With the mod, you get power quicker and smoother. Also, when going slow on streets or in parking lots, when you close the gas you get a real hard engine braking. This is a whole lot less with the mod. It's just smoother all around.

quit doing the gear indicator cos i cant find some of the resistor...

for me,i wont install TRE as it appears to be conflicting wif some things..and,it's juz a resistor..might as well diy..

Ya.. will DIY the TRE myself. Found another website which shows a more detail step in the DIY of TRE. They recommend 15k ohms for the 600s. I will try 2k Ohms instead since the restriction is only on the 1st 3 gear. http://www.maxlean.com/motorcyclepages/tre.htm#Instructions

there's a reason for using 15k ohm resistor..

In short, a 15k ohm resistor is necessary for it to work as the GPS sends out a reading of 15k Ohms to the ECU when it's travelling at 6th gear and thus not restricted.the GPS will send out 15k Ohm reading to the ECU at gear 6 but with your 2k Ohm resistor blocking the way, the ECU will only sense a 2k Ohm reading going thru.wouldn't it restrict ur bike even at the 6th gear?

Using a 15k Ohm will trick the ECU to believe that u r on the 6th gear even though u r using the 1st gear. Thus the powercut being remove..

Got my point?

Tat mean anything less than 15k Ohm cant fake the ECU ar?

it will fake....

fake the ECU to believe u r travelling in lower gears even when u r in the 6th gear..

cos onli a 2k ohm reading will reach the ECU even when u r into ur gear 6,thus the ECU will believe that u r in a much lower gear cos of the 2k Ohm reading being generated to it..

As the 6th gear is generating a 15k reading to the ECU,u will need the 15k Ohm Resistor to trick the ECU into believeing that u r on the 6th gear all this while..

So meaning at 4th and 5th gear, the power is still limited? While at 6th gear the power is fully unleash? Anyway I kapo many resistor from my company  . Can try everything. Hehe, only thing hard is to get the same connector so I can just plug it into my GPS cable. By the way you mentioned that ithe TRE will conflict with something, care to enlighten us??

:offtopic: Who can do wheelie with G6?? So far I've tried, can only pop wheelie. My friend use my bike, can wheelie swee swee..:sian: Think I must be too fat liao. :hungry:

Wah... 20yrs arr:confused: You can try NTUC income webby where there is an online premium calculation. Based on my age 26 (so old liao:sian: ), plus 15%NCD, plus 3rd party fire and theft = $690 plus plus..
