try turning ur throttle a bit n look into the hole on the left to see which is the moving part. under the moving part is a screw, that is the place to adjust ur idling

Hello people, i'm a newbie here , just bought myself a K5 600. Havent collect yet though. Wonder if anyone could enlighten with regards to running in the bike. Like the best way etc. i'm curious as to what is the hard run in all about. How different is it from normal running in?

Or you can follow the recommended run in by the owner manual. I stick to the recommendation. So far so good. Some of my friend tried the hard run in method aka break in. Actually also not much different from the normal run in. This kinda of difference can only see in a long period of time, maybe 5 yr down the road. So unless you intend to keep the bike for so long, then stick to the normal run in, if not just whack the bike from start.

thanx all for ur tips...

i found the knot liao....

but u all can really squeeze ur hand in to tune?

mi tried it last nite....can oni tune it towards mi and canot tune up the rpm as its the other way,....

super dulan, so lanlan open up the screw, took out the oil tank n seat JUZ to tune the idlin.....

haiz...

but thanx alot, it realy help...ur advise...

btw went dwn to parkway parade yesdae, saw the new ROSSI R6, chio sia, 1 side moon design n 1 side sun design, oni 15 in singapore to b exact, 19500 bucks on the road....temptin sia

18+km/l, average speed 100-120, more than 70% on eway. no mods. fully stock

but got difference in fuel consumption mehz? sounds like most of the gixxer6 almost the same, regardless of run in methods.

TRE:

EXPLANATION:

Your ECU (the bike's fuel injection computer) takes readings from the sensors on the bike. Things like RPM, intake air pressure, throttle position, and the like, and computes how much fuel to inject into the cylinders to make the bike run correctly.

As I understand it, the gahment got involved in this, but I'm not sure. At any rate, when you are in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gears, the computer figures out how much fuel to inject as usual, but, to limit torque, it backs off this amount and / or closes the secondary throttles a bit to limit your power. This is to keep torque down when you are in the lower gears. I guess it's to keep you from zipping around on the streets or whatever. It doesn't do this in the higher gears, because if you're in 4th gear or higher at low RPM's and nail it, you don't have much torque anyway.

The gear position sensor is a variable resistor. When in 1st gear it's like 500 ohms. When in 6th gear, it's about 15,000 ohms. So, if you clip the wires going to the ECU, and hook up a 15K ohm resistor, the ECU *THINKS* you are really in 6th gear all the time because it is sensing 15K ohm (6th gear) of your resistor rather than what the GPS is actually reading. So, when you roll on the gas, it puts out the full amount of power the engine is capable of.

That's basically the gist of it. It makes a difference in the feel of the bike. Ever notice that in 1st gear, you can rev to around 3K RPM, then nail the gas wide open, and the bike sort of hesitates? That is because of this built in retard. With the mod, you get power quicker and smoother. Also, when going slow on streets or in parking lots, when you close the gas you get a real hard engine braking. This is a whole lot less with the mod. It's just smoother all around.

as for top, smelly smelly oso got 270.

corsa is gd, but be prepare to change after ard 4-6 mths.

arrow sounds great on a gixxer.

mayb u can hav a try on it.

as for e PC.2, i find no need for a stock 750.

even with K&N filter & a aftermakert pipe, 'tuning' can still b done with TEKA.

SANFU, They wash the fuel injectors and tune.

Cost $90.

To reprogram ur bike's ECU, Bikelab or Looi's got do it.

Only difference at Looi's, they dynorun ur bike and setup accordingly. Cost $80.

At Bikelab, they just trial and error by reving ur bike on neutral gear, setup accordingly. Cost $50.

Can this TRE be applied on a K1/K2 600cc? If yes, can recommend me a shop that does this? Afterall, it's a electrical thing, dun wanna screw it up.

Any comments (good or bad also can) on a K1 600?

Actually you can try to rev the throttle abit so that the cam is not touching the screw. This way it is easier to adjust. But it will still gonna take some finger tip strength to turn it. Point to note when reducing the idling, the bike will sound like going to die off at idling. And during idling, u throttle the bike abit then release, the bike will tend to die off.

Travelling a average speed of 100km/hr on e-ways & a average speed of 75km/hr on normal roads

My average is 20km per litre.Using Mobil..

Did 2 things to my bike which may have change the fuel consumption rate

BMC Air Race Filter & Teka Mapping(Rest all stock).

Best so far is 300km exact before reserve lights up...

so does having mapping able to make the fuel consumption better ?
