Today i tried logging in to my msn email accounts, they say this account dont have an inbox? I have 2 msn email accounts, 1 hotmail account. This is ridiculous, now my msn inbox contents cannot be retrieved. I tried to sign in with a msn email, there is no such option anymore, only hotmail or live accounts available?

Did MSN send announcement they are terminating all msn mails?

Windows Vista 'Service Pack 2' out, ready for download

by JR Raphael, PC World; Thomas Ricker, Engadget

In between waiting for Windows 7 to launch and tweaking the XP build on your newly purchased netbook, there's this little thing called Windows Vista that needs to be maintained. Today, Microsoft did its part and released the standalone installers for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Service Pack 2 for Vista, alongside its corporate bigger brother, the Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2. Now it's all up to you.

Download:

Service Pack 2 for the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows Vista

SP2 is a 'fairly significant' upgrade

Sarcasm aside, Windows Vista SP2 includes numerous changes to the Vista operating system. Here are some of the highlights of what it'll do for you:

• Let you record data onto Blu-ray discs

• Add into your system Vista Feature Pack For Wireless, which provides support for the latest Bluetooth technology -- Bluetooth v2.1 -- as well as for the Windows Connect Now (WCN) Wi-Fi protocol, which lets you easily copy WiFi settings on a thumbdrive and easily propogate them to your WiFi devices such as your router, WiFi printer, etc...

• Give you better Wi-Fi performance when you're exiting Vista's sleep mode

• Make your RSS feeds sidebar gadget work faster and better

• Give you the latest desktop search engine, Windows Search 4

• Cut down the resources it takes to run your various sidebar gadgets

Service Pack 2 will give your OS an overall tune-up, too.

Vista Service Pack 2 will also deliver some under-the-hood improvements, which will:

• Give your computer support for VIA Technologies' new 64-bit CPU. Yep, Intel and AMD now has a new competitor, but let's leave that as a story for another day.

• (If it interests you...) Let your system support Microsoft's new exFAT file system, which is able to handle larger files, has lower overhead than NTFS, and can also use UTC timestamps so you can synchronize files across different time zones

• Boost your power management efficiency by as much as 10 percent

Additionally, a slew of system bugs will be corrected in the update, including some slow shutdown problems and other crash-causing issues.

You have to have Service Pack 1 installed before you begin.

Like most Microsoft Service Packs, SP2 won't work on your system if you haven't already installed SP1. If you're thinking about trying the SP2 upgrade, you'll have to hit SP1 first.

For techies and admins, here's the link to view the full list of stuff that Service Pack 2 aims to fix or add to Windows Vista (and Server 2008)

I don't know why but I clicked through that cute little popup calendar in Vista (about the only feature I like in Vista).

The dates supported range from 1900 to 2199, giving rise to speculation that Vista supports the use of time machines

I for one won't mind going back to Victorian England :D

To promote the new Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft themselves have created an advert with 2 kids on how they use PowerPoint:

The advert is pretty straightforward ain't it? :)

Thats Apple's domain, non-techie icons to navigate through their apps. But somehow Apple couldnt catch up because we are all so used to MS's free installation in all computers except Apple.

Yep...that's an obvious disparity there when we talk about Apple vs Microsoft. I wholeheartedly agree that MS needs to rework (not revamp) their entire operating system. I'm going to reserve that topic for another day though.

However, I have to give 1 bonus point for Microsoft though with regards to Microsoft Office. Some operating systems is better than each other's; but the fact remains: I just can't do anything without MS Office!!1

PCs form the bulk of today's worldwide computers. You find them everywhere at home, in the office, or in the back of a tourbus.

Then there's the ubiquitous Windows. First conceived back in 1984, it now forms the mass of computing interfaces in many computers worldwide, the powerhouse of servers in companies, as well as entertaining your schoolkids with Sonic and the Hedgehog games on their netbook computers in their rooms.

Discuss anything and everything under the sun with regards to the Windows operating systems, be it XP, Vista, 7, and including computers as well. :)
