Depends on what you mean by famous.

I personally think the Wak Hai Cheng Beo, near UOB Plaza is quite a good place (even for tourist visits). It's not big and busy like Thian Hock Keng although their patron deity is the same.

Please note though... don't be a dodo like me and tell people they can take photos INSIDE the temple. Outside they don'tc are. Inside cannot. My friend asked me if it was ok and I forgot I only took photos outside, never inside, so I told her ok. So paiseh when the caretaker said no photography.

Dou Mu Temple along Upper Serangoon seems quite popular too.

Temple of Thousand Lights at Race Course Road is not well known. On the same street, have other temples too. Worth looking thru.

Was kinda on a tourism course, so was remembering temples and places of interest in Singapore.

Together with a young lady classmate of mine, we went exploring a bit at Chinatown and I brought her to the Indian Temple & the temple holding the Buddha Relic the day before.

We just visited a Sikh temple behind Wilkie Edge yesterday.

Visiting some temples, you should bring along a shawl to cover your head & exposed shoulders sometimes.

Next to the Goddess of Mercy Temple at Bugis is a Indian Temple with a Urn in front. Reason being, that some chinese businessman, prayed at the Indian Temple and striked 4D. So he contributed the Urn to the Indian Temple.

And if you are really keen to explore.

Kusu Island has two temples that is interesting to check out, and its beaches is very quiet.

Pulau Ubin has a thai temple and a 'ma ju' temple that is very popular with older folks on certain months.

BTW, its coming to Chinese New Year again.

Those old folks and ladies who wants to stick the first joss sticks at Kuan Yin Temple at Waterloo aka Bugis on New Years Day. Dont lah.

The real heart for worship and requesting for best wishes.....is not about joss sticks. Its about how your heart really wish and prays for. Your daily good actions, speaks more, then just throwing in joss sticks at the urn.
