Lets talk abt servicing i.e type of oil, spark plug etc.

 

Im actually still running in my engine, so on mineral oil. Havent change spark plug yet though.. when need to change?

 

Air filter? when need to clean too?

 

Also, i believe YBR rider have problem with cold start even with choke pulled? Is it necessary to ask the mech to adjust the carb?

cold start happen easily when you're running in as in when u use mineral oil. after running in you use a better engine oil where can stand colder temp. but not like magically no cold start lah.. lessen i mean.

 

as for filter. if i'm not wrong YBR using sponge filter right? sponge filter it u have to change, u dun wash it.. unless u swithc to K&N filter.

abt mantainance.... ybr is basically a pump n go bike. not so expensive mantainance needed. i spent abt 20rm on semi syn 4t, 5.50rm on ngk spark plug. n dats abt every 2 mths. n abt 10 rm petrol per week. qte cheap.

 

frm wat i noe... the carb is tuned to the wether settings in china (most ybr made in china). so wen u buy n use in sg u need to re- tune the carb. i seldom use choke start unless raining wen cold.

yup true need to tune your carb.

 

and advisable not to use your choke often..

Hopefully will be better when i use semi/full syn oil..

 

I not sure what its using but from the manual it does show how to wash it.. so, should be able to wash n dry lor..:smile:

@GoofRider: wow, really? i've been using lots of choke for cold start man.. dammn.. Should i wait for my next servicing or just do it rightaway ?

ya ask mech to re- tune carb.... other than need to use choke start very often, bike will oso suddenly stall after ard 50- 60 km of continuous riding due to overheating. like my bike last time b4 retuning (dis oso affect ur FC). den u need to stop ur bike for ard 20 to 30 mins b4 continuing ur journey. after i re tune it, no problem alredi.

mostly your second service your mech will automatically tune for you, to a high RPM.

and bike die off when u travel for a a bit of distance mean the fuel did not enter your carb 'fully. something liek that. what u should do is warm up your bike slightly longer. maybe let say 5 mins. than move of at a steady speed, not suddenly jus speeed off. by doing that your bike will die off.

wat i sometime do is when i start my bike, i jus throttle in for a few seconds to let the fuel 'enter' 'fully' in the carb.

something like that. i dun know the real terms for all this.

 

anyway bro Mcfibre, can u ask your mech how much is the 'Thing' cost. the one i was asking u guys. the one at the side of the bike.

What you mean the mech will automatically adjust the rpm? RPM nothing to do directly with carb right. You mean adjust the idle speed?

 

From what i understand, carb controls the amount of air that is used for the combustion. The throat of the engine..

 

As for your item, i didnt go down and ask leh. Probably you might want to give them a ring?

for me i use redex... name diff but most "engine cleaners" oil or tablets are more or less the same. they make ur engine run smoother, so they claim. redex is ok enuff for me... i bought at yishun for $8.50 i tink untill nw still have more den 1/2 bottle left. just add ard 10 ml per full tank. for me i feel abit of the diff.

 

but to make ur engine run smoother n have good FC, service ur bike. change 4t, spark plug,clean carb, n tighten chain. den give bike a good "bath", remove all dirt n grime on rims n sprocket n lube the chains after dat. den pump ur tank to the brim to get the best engine run. the brand n type of the fuel, 4t n spark plug will determine hw long the bike stays in this "form". any comments?

Yea..but they are called engine cleaner? but its at the petrol tank leh..

 

Clean carb ah. Airfilter... tis bike no oil filter right.

Was wondering if you thought of trying FP60? not too expensive leh they sell.. :p

There's a oil filter net. You need to open the right crankcase to access it. Seems like a messy job. Will let the bike shop do it instead. :smile:

i call up the main agent liao.. they say the part i was looking for out of stock.

and i ask whenn they gonna order, they say long to go cos they have to order from China.

 

kindly anyone here do their bike service at other shop than the agent, do

help me ask if they have. they told me it around $5-6 per side.

Hi Mfibre , I also riding a YBR125 for 2 yrs now , was hesisitating whether to change the horn to a louder one ... till date still haven't resolve the horn issue

its a matter of asking yourself u really need a louder horn....

if u think u need it for safety reason , get it done.

It can go much faster la coz your sprocket all changed, But i suggest ah hmm why would u wanna mod a YBR? its for transport. Get a Z la if you really wanna mod make until fast. Looks same like YBR.

 

No offence i like YBR too man its comfortable I LOVE 4 STROKES no 2T
