Hi fellow riders. on my way to work this morning, i was caught speeding at KPE. i saw the camera flashed. i did not realise the speed i was riding until the moment i saw the flash. i think its 100km/h. i would like to know,

a) how many demerit pts and fine

b) i'm the sub rider of the bike so how will they know who to give the pts to?

c) how accurate is our bike speed(i'm riding super 4) to the actual speed capture by the camera?

d) how long to wait for the letter?

Cant really be sure of my answers. The camera in KPE uses structure laser. Not too sure whether are there any speed differences as compare to the mobile camera used by the tp.

 

You didnt realise you were gg very fast in the tunnel ah?

a) As for points, can refer to TP webby (http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/services/driving_in_singapore/information_dips_offences.htm)

b) If not wrong, the owner will receive the letter. He/She will need to fill up a form to say that during that time you are the rider of the vehicle.

c) To know your actual speed, you can try and use a GPS to compare with the speedometer. No point comparing with stock S4. One reason is that your S4 may have changes over time that may affect the speedometer.

d) Can check from time to time on EDDIES (https://www.psi.gov.sg/NASApp/tmf/TMFServlet?app=SPF-PTD-EDDIES-II&Reload=true)

even though the road so bumpy i dun even wan to go more than 75. not worth the risk. lucky i only went in and out within 5min. travel there almost daily.

I was CAM-Caught at 90KM/hr at the entrance of KPE from TPE.... Got a warning Letter with regards to it.

To Me....

 

It's not How fast you go... It's how FAR you Travel...:thumb:

 

It's the Rider! Not the Bike! o_O

In my opinion, if you are caught speeding over the limit of the road by 1kmh to 20kmh. You are likely to be given a warning letter if you have a clean record (you have never been caught for speeding before or any deduction of demerit points). If you have demerit points deducted before, chance of been fined and deduction of demerit points is very high.

I think you need to let them know about the fact that you are riding... normally the letter will be address to the main rider...

True... but i do not speed so i do not have to worry... i think if we paid 20-30 grand for a sweet piece of machinery and the speedo is not accurate, there must be something wrong with the manufacturer.... 2B bikes maybe... class 2A... think should be fairly reasonable... class 2 i think would be the most accurate that anybike can get... refering to current class 2 bikes of course...

ah i got an advisory letter from TP last 2 weeks ago regarding my KPE flash incident too.

on the letter it stated that my riding speed was 84km/hr and was adviced to abide by the rules and observe road limits.

thats all.

 

as for who will get what, the main rider will fill up the form as to who was riding at that point of time. letter will be addressed to the main rider.

 

ask your friend to check the mailbox. usually after 2-3 days, the letter will be posted to your house. i got mine within the 3rd day as of date of offence.

For every 7 pounds you lose, you gain one horsepower.

Ive got 4 demerit points and requested to fill up the letter and mail it. Then it says "The offence may be compounded for $130". Does that mean I have to send the particulars form and pay or if I pay $130, i wont get 4 demerit points? Thanks in advance, riders!

Yeah i just realised it stated at the top right hand of the letter. I went today to pay in the mid afternoon. It was closed and tmr closed as well. Monday to Friday reservist :( Do you think I can appeal for late payment due to reservist?

I think you are given something like 2 weeks to pay the fine, dont think you can appeal for late payment... i think the reply you will get is,"Next time dont speed." but you can try... not sure if you will get it.
