Just a question. I just received an offer to work in the UK. Have to go at end september if accept. Problem is that I just bought a brand new white S3 for $9600 cash. How can I sell it for the best price? How much roughly I can get. Only done about 200km.

Hi guys,

New this thread. Currently i'm riding a GTS200. Just got into accident last mth. Now feeling like my bike alignment is not right. Feels like falling when cornering. Changed tyres and checked for alignment twice at workshop but still got the same feeling.

Heard once accident, alignment can never been the same again. Now feeling like changing bike already. Saw S3 and i loved the design. Was wondering whether is it a good choice to change. I'm big sized and wondering whether this bike can carry my weight.

I am also big size (>100kg) riding the S3. 2 weeks back I took a friend of mine as pillion without any problems. He is also >100kg. Having said that it definitely has less power than the GTS as the S3 is only 125cc. I can see this quite clearly each time I move from stationary at the traffic light with a GTS200 beside me. The S3 would lose out 'slightly' in terms of pick up. Other than that I enjoy the riding the S3. The design is more superior and the keyless system is quite useful.

Went CKA just now. Price dropped by $300. Was qouted $9300. Downpayment including $90 paperwork is $1020. Installment $284x36mths. But got to give it a miss as they only want to buy over my GTS for a low price. Quite expensive for me to fork out the amt every month. But the bike is awesome!! Loved the design so much. But unfortunately not to my budget. Got to think about the future. Better to have what is needed rather than what is wanted.

Haha bro. But if u paying installment, i think the $300 is not much difference. Now bike so expensive. Miss those times where i pay $100+ only for installment..

dear s3 riders pls give me some info...

The rpm meter on the left of the console ( On neutrel it is on 1800 rpm, does it goes up to 8000 rpm ard 60 - 90 km/h )

( It seems that my RPM meter does not move when i accelerate from 0 km/h to 90 km/h, it only increases from 1800 rpm to 9000 rpm max )

( Please give me some feedback, now still running in so trying to figure out the nicks and nacks )

Thank you Bro's! =]

just got mine 2 days ago.

So far so good. Was reminded by Roy not to push faster than 80km/hr, that part is not good.

1 problem though, there is an irritating sound when I have a pillion. You guys encountered the same problem?

what kind of sound? can share cause mayb i have but nvr notice...

so does your rpm fluctuate when u ride or does it only increases =]

Bro, can clarify your question?..I don't understand this part..sorry hor my english not so powerful..

Anyway, yes I notice the RPM is always on the high side..but I just ignore it..maybe it is common for 125cc..a bit stretch considering the bike is quite big.

Irritating sound quite subjective brother...for example, I find Harley sound irritating but to harley bikers they love it..

However, i got feel some irritating vibration sometime..felt tingling sensation in between the legs till the feet..

I mean does the rpm meter move cause it only incrreases when I accelerate. My past few bikes manual so the rpm would drop and increase with ever gear change.

I find it ok cause when idling the sound like Harley :) but when moving off surely got vibrqtions dunno if it's normal too. I tried my ferns Piaggo find it very smooth in picking up but s3 like quite rough do you feel it too?...

Yes, you don't see the needle decrease and increase as it changes gear like car or manual bike. However, you would notice that the needle increase less quickly as difference acceleration and speed. I think it is the nature of how auto bike are designed and nothing that we should be concerned about.

I am quite surprised to see that the rpm is usually around 7 to 8 range..very much on this high side. For cars you seldom go beyond half of the total rpm. Don't know why leh..

Yes, I feel it too..i assume that it is due to the small 125cc.

Hi, been reading up on this thread. There's a lot of concern over the generally higher rev when compared to other bikes of the same class. There's also some discussion over slow pickup. Some doubted the ability to go beyond 120, which eventually is proven wrong.

But i believe all these are due to the characteristics of DOHC. DOHC delivers less power initially when compared to SOHC. However, at mid to high rev, it eventually delivers more power which makes it the generally sort after characteristics for race bikes? And of course high rev implies inevitably higher vib? In the high rev region, as it generates more power, it'll break the 120 kph limit, which most people believes to be so.

Anyone can verify if what i interpret bout this bike is right or wrong? I'm trying to understand more about bikes too. Cheers!! :)

Oh and also because of the requirement to rev high to generate the desired power, i believe this had caused the designer of the bike to keep the rev of the bike to be around 7k to 9k rpm?

Hole i'm right. :)
