Wow! Haven't checked the forum for less than a day and its lively now! :)

@WarForGe, your Komine mesh jacket looks damn cool! Looks like I'd need to pay Motoworld a Visit. How does the Ubi branch differ from the Lavender branch? If they sell this at Lavender as well then I don't have to travel down to Ubi.

FYI, I fell a few times during ebrake too. Stopped 2B for nearly a year at lesson 8 and started this year because very heart pain if give up just like that (New year resolution 2012 is to complete 2B this year). All the best for your TP test! You can do it!

@Adzz, oh man I'm 36... Yeah, I enjoyed the breeze too and without jacket is good for short riding. I think I want one just for protection while on longer rides with my friends. Now with all the incense burning and mine is open carpark, I always cover up my bike. Go for the 2A lesson, grab the 250 later.

@foxz15, congratulations on your great choice regardless of 125/ 250! :D

@WarForGe - Nice jacket , make me tempted to get one.

@foxz15 - Congrats for getting the S3

@Adzz - I am older, 44 Liao

@HISShouken - hope your run-in will complete as soon

I got my S3 second-hand and have been happily riding it.

I am not sure if I really need to upgrade to 250cc S3 next time - so far I quite happy with the 125cc S3.

Enjoy riding guys! :)

Yup. Happening now. So nice to know so many S3 riders :) I'm going for my 2nd servicing soon at 1,400km. Next target 3,000km to complete the run-in.

Hi thanks a lot S3 bro here, why i choose S3 125cc because Fuel consumption, resell value is better and insurance cost.

If talk about class 2A for 250cc is abit hard to sell but if u plan to ride for long it ok like my Forza i bought it 2nd hand only 3 years old and i ride it till it last two years left of COE i sold it off.

Anyone knows how much will a 1-2 year old S3 go for? Haha. I might have plans in the future. Just checking the resale value so that I know how much I have to save per month. :)

We have been thru this before - for 2B rider, we will want to upgrade and try a bigger CC.

Go for it - my advice is go for 400CC instead 250CC.

Until a certain stage you might want to fall back to lower CC, low fuel consumption, better resale value, and lower overall cost... heehee just my opinion.

just a quick question in the early morning, been looking at s3 for quite some time even though i am still learning at the moment.. what is the current price of the bike with coe???

Yap agree!

I've stop riding for 2 years {2008} due to a E breaking fall and the bike (Suzuki Bandit 400V) lay on my leg so i drag with the bike for a distance cos of a rider Honda Wave suddenly cut into my lane without signaling and he some more can skidded and fall infront of me.

Last 2 years (2010) i've bought a yamaha RXK mostly for my home to work place cos the carpark fee very EX for car and now my RXK COE finishing this month.

Actually thinking of Honda PCX but few weeks ago was riding RXK back from work suddenly a black auto scooter zooom pass me to his back view wah dam Swee sia cos of twin exo so once reach home i started Google around found out was Daelim S3 and found out that engine spec is better then most Jap small cc bike.

Like

_S3 engine=125cc DOHC 4Valve injection

_PCX engine=125cc SOHC 2valve injection

how u all run in a brand new bike cos this is my first time buyin new bike but heard before that run in till 1000km is enough right???

From Roy CKA, run-in is till 3,000km. First 500km, no more than 7k rpm, gradual increase of coz. Speed is not much of a concern, more rpm. After 1st servicing, Roy said can go up to 8k rpm, around 90kmh. Of coz if downslope, 100kmh is possible, as long less than 8k rpm.

Anyway PCX is attractive for me because of the 50-60km/L FC. Hehe.. But closer looks, it's realy very small bike.

@linjun: At least 1 month back, it's 8.8k OTR. :)

I like the PCX very much also cos I rode it in Phuket during my holiday - smooth engine (Honda).

But I chose S3 cos of the design, new technology, and back disc brake. (PCX is back drum brake).

Wah you guys hiong, I just hit 200km nia. @foxz15, mine is new bike btw so I'm running in now. 3,000 is like perhaps next year? 1st servicing should be in 2-3 weeks time! Yeah~

Even for 2B, initially I thought should just go for a 200cc bike, i.e. Runner or the Phantom. But after I saw CKA's advertisement on SBF, the pictures on Google and read 1-2 reviews, I've decided to pay CKA a visit - Thereafter you guys know liao. Yah, I agree should go 400cc if you are 2A.

Hi @linjun, a new S3 125 with COE should be S$8.8 OTR. For 2nd-hand, I'm not so sure. Perhaps the good folks at CKA can advise. I would say around 6-7k for a 1 year old?

Looks like we have at least 4 dudes active around here~ @WarForGe, we are waiting for you with effect now.

I may upgrade to S3 250 if the price is right =D

400cc a bit too much for local roads luh. I find my 125cc more than enough le =D

Haven't really try a 250cc. CB400 got at BBDC. Damn powerful. I was like speeding in the circuit. lol... Ideally I would like a T-max, but $26k... Can faint. Even with a 15k instalment, over 5 years, prob need about 300 per month.

1360km and running. :) I need about 1.5 months more to complete my run-in. Hehe... 2 more days for WarForGe to his big day.

Wah. Why 1st party insurance? I took the 3rd party one. Cheaper. lol... Covered in bundle in fact.

It ok lar bro Adzz cos it a new bike and 1st party insurance although ex but at lease given me a peace of mind cos it cover everything. =D

Actually 2nd party insurance was covered in the original cost and I opt to top-up to 1st party for the added peace of mind (similar to @foxz15). Since the bike is new it was highly recommended (by most even for 1st-hand cars). I almost fell over to my left at a junction while I pillion my friend. Lucky my friend is a biker he quickly put down his left leg otherwise the situation will be most embarrassing. :)

On a side note, the weather is damn hot this morning even when I wasn't wearing any jacket. How do you guys survive this warm and humid weather wearing your windbreakers and mesh jackets together with your work clothes? I'm still tempted to buy Komine mesh jacket but the weather is holding me back. Feel like just wearing t-shirt and change to work shirt once I reach office.

topgear, what ride are you having now? :)

Hi bro! I ride a Kymco Downtown 125i.

Was intending to upgrade to Keeway SilverBlade 250 as the OTR price by Guan Hoe is $8.7k [COE $1.8k]. But if the Daelim S3 Advance 250cc is below $10k OTR, I will get the S3 luh. Haha.

Was also considering the Yamaha Majesty 400, but I find that's a bit too excessive for local roads. Plus it's been this look for ages liao [actually since YR2005, with the facelift since YR2009], so I'm paying $16.5k OTR without insurance for essentially a 7yrs old scoot. Haha. I like the Majesty for it's huge storage space luh.

Am looking at SYM MaxSym 400 used also [below $10k], but having seen the scoot, I'm not getting the quality feel leh. Plus some people have problems with the scoot. Some don't. It can top 165kph no sweat [much like the Japanese 400cc rivals], but the plastics they use don't feel assuring. Haha. There're plenty of gaps between plastic panel fittings.

Also considered the used Kymco Xciting 300, but that riding position too sporty for me liao. My back gotta lean forwards, plus my arm fully stretched. Not really comfortable, plus the seat height too tall liao. I have to tip-toe; worse than my current Downtown 125i.... =(

It's nice to have more options with a 2A license. Urgh. LOL.. Daelim S3 250cc is a potential bike. Especially with good service from CKA. That is certainly one of the shortlisted bikes, together with the Vespa GTS300 Super and T-Max/Majesty 400
