two days ago? if its on friday...i rode from jurong to pml in the wet morning for my tire change and final drive seal check. bike is still there due to replacment of minor leaky seal.

yes...pml charge about 2k for clutch replacement. its due to the labour and other spares involve. clutch plate is cheap....but still must replace other seal and bearings cause they basically remove your bike's entire rear...wheel, final drive, shaft, sub frame, gearbox. now...imagine how much labour, seals and gasket thats gonna cost?

oh then wrong person i saw then with 2 tone gs white n blue...

well cant imagine abt the cost..*sigh* where can i get it done besides pml?

well any more reviews from brudders here on the ceramic plates?

Hi dude,

I did mine at PML. And the bill was up to almost $2.6k for the clutch, Tranny seals, and many other miscs like Fuel pressure regulator... trottle body seals, gear indicator sensor, and parts here and there since already open up.... So far so good.

It will last me probably a another 100k......

How's the maintainance interval like for ur baby? (congrats btw. )

Would love to ride up to Malaysia,Thailand, China and to Tibet and back perhaps next year or next next year. Don't think the Ducati suited for off-road action.

Trailing.... Seldom trail as often as I would love to nowadays partially of work, and also waning passion. Maybe new year resolution to make work of less priority...

BTW, can SMS me ur contact no. at 81338208. Lost my phone and my contacts

as a result. Take care yah~~~

service interval of my baby? which one? well...

Baby GS is every

5,000km change mineral oil,

10,000km change oil,oil filter and valve clearance.

20,000km change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, gear+shaft oil, vlave clearance.

60,000km change v belt.

30,000km change tires.

hey rasul...2.6k for so much things is normal liao.

PML just called me today telling me my price is about 1k. thats $450+ for tires...$100+ for brake/clutch fluid change and $400 for final drive seal and bearings. for me...small price to pay knowing that at least my final drive seal wont fail me in thailand...as it cost $1k-$3k to transport the bike back home from there.

for cheaper clutch change, can go M-technik at ubi, look for chua 96803256 or eris 96309412. somemore can sit beside your bike see how he do. PML abit more secretive.

hi bro's...gotta something to ask abt gs1150 clutch plates...any1 here using th t-tech ceramic plates?

how u find using the ceramic and the stock plates...which is better?any problems wif the machine?

i hope u guys can give me the pro's and con's on this..as i m thinking which on to get for my bike...

Personally, i think original clutch is good enough. Ceramic clutch are supposedly able to last the life of your bike. But the oil seals, friction plates etc. can't last that long. It's more feasible to do a complete change of all the oil seals + the clutch plate every mayble 120k to 150k km. This should keep the bike in good running condition.

Guys ... my bike is due for 40,000 km inspection at PML. anything to watch out for?

funny thing is that although the service manual says inspection, was told that would also do valve clearance, brake / clutch flush, gear-oil change. I can understand if oil change etc, but these doesn't seem like an inspection?

thanks for any views, man.

Cheers

hmmm...40,000km service does include all those.

but if u talking about inspection...the only one i can think of is annual inspection which is changing of brake/clutch fluid and checking of torque tightness for ur wheel bolts and axle etc.

what model is urs?

No, no .. no thots of abandoning the fella ... juz that I have a second ride so i need not ride her. Was wondering if telling PML i'm not riding the bike will encourage them to be more through or will it juz lure them into taking their time. ah well, will find out.

btw, I note that you guys share videos, so if you guys are keen, I have a DVD of a tale of 2 blokes that rode from calcutta to london on 2 enfields that i juz recorded off A1 .... if anyone keen I can pass to them or i pass to SDR via sticking it on his eh, SDR.
