My mate managed to smuggle these through the airport custom two days ago. Nothing wrong with the bike but I am just practicing the kiasu-ism to keep some spares for the rainy days.

I'm so happy for ya, yet so sad when the customs officer who reads this will have to do his duty and eh, hmmmmmm .... :p

How much savings are we talking here? I'm thinking of getting a beemer jacket from the states; doing research now, ....

Actually PML not that bad for price for comsummables. One-off parts tend to be more pricey. Try to source for aftermarket ones, but make sure they are of good quality. How much did the fuel filter cost?

Cheers

Actually, I didn’t check the local price and availability when I ordered those parts so the price that I paid may be higher than PML price. I am stupid right?

I ordered the parts from chicagobmw and I paid S$20 ~ S$21 for the fuel filter depending which exchange rate you use to convert USD15.32.

I need to ride for another 15,000km before the next fuel filter change. Base on my current riding habit, I will only need it 1.5year to 2 years later. If you need the fuel filter before me, I can pass it to you :)

Welcome to our Bring More Worries thread .... Try Chiap Lee. The shops with the "BIG" helmet outside; agents for Arai.

DISASTER strikes!!!!!! liao liao .... Thousands affected, much suffering, unhappiness, inconvenience and pain .....

YES! There is now another ERP gantry outside Fullerton Hotel; from Esplanade towards Shenton Way. Gantry is now spanking new, wrappers not even removed from the pillars. Just eyeballed the thing this morning!

So now imagine you live in AMK and have to drop your missus off first at Suntec before heading to Amoy ... very jia lat.

Chey this new gantry and the other 4 along the river were announced a few months ago. Finally it'll come on in July, and hopefully it'll get rid of the traffic in the evenings.

What tail box? You mean a rear box or the one under the seat?

$13K for a FQ plate GS1100 is definitely a no go pal. If i am not wrong the COE should have been renewed since its registered in 1998. I sold my 2001 GS1150 with 10K worth of accessory for only $19K. Suggest u hunt ard for other better deal. Cheers.

Huh? Anyway, nice Avatar.

Phang, where did you get the torx drivers? Mine came in smaller sizes but need an adapter. Yours looks expensive. How's their resistance to corrosion?

Cheers

I bought it from a tools supplier around Balestier area. The brand is my favorite KTC (Kyoto Tool). The T25 in the photo is 3/8” drive hand tool series. The other two (T40 and T45) also 3/8” drive but are meant for powered tool. Paid S$50+ for 3 pieces.

I have another KTC hex (Allen) drive socket set bought a few year ago, no corrosion so far but probably because I keep my tools in the house.

The service at PML is clearly more expensive than all other motorcycle workshops in Singapore, but not really overly expensive.

But the quality of work is far ahead of any other workshop. I can clearly see the team is trained in Germany.

I had my share of problems with the manager, Kris. But I can not say anything negative about their quality of work. I hope it stays that way, because I value quality work.

The second joice is probably M-Technik. Not that there is anything wrong with their work quality. But they do not have the array of special tools that PML has.

BMW R 12 GS: White Power 4014 Emulsion + Wilbers 642 shocks, Hepco&Becker cases on Seng Kwan modified H&B racks, Ilmenberger carbon rear hugger, Pivotpegz II, Sedcem screen with MRA spoiler, SW-Motech Crashbars, Hella FF50 'Fernblau' edition.

It's the box where we normally place the tools, the one just behind the rear seat. can tap the power from the rear tail light thats nearby, by the way mines a 1100RT :thumb:

Hi Peter, your recent Australia trip on your Singapore registered GS should be an interesting read, please shall with us the story.

My 2002 R1150R comes with a full PML service record when it was handed to me by the previous owner 2 months ago. Generally and superficially, the work done on the bike is above average considering they have worked on this bike for at least 6 times. Evidence of correct tools was used, no stray/improvised fasteners and parts found so far.

Some mates warned me about not continue to have PML stamps on the service booklet will devalue the bike. Well, a big part of my motorcycling fun is bike tinkering (both my riding and wrenching skill su*ks) and the bike was not bought with investment in mind. Also, at the price that I paid, there is not much left to devalue comparing to a new bike.

So, no more five stars SPA treatment and here comes the ham fisted backyard tinker:cool:
