Hi Fellow Bikers,

Just started biking again after 25 years lapse & bought Honda Steed & used for 1 year, no problem but got the usual V twin vibration at higher speed.

Bought 1995 K75 and surprised that the engine still run well but recently engine had knocking sound during idling but disappeared at higher speed and lucky was traced to broken rubber dampers and its housing at alternator. Parts cost cost $42.00. Glad to hear tips how to maintain K75 from fellow owners.

Cheers & Seasons Greetings

Was he a rider from Singapore? Regardless I hope that the rider is ok. Impact must have been great for the front end to separate from the bike. I do not understand how the accident happened, since if it was a head on, the car's left side was hit, and not the right side.

Hiya, Beng Swee, welcome to our little enclave. Nice ride you have there.

From what I know, the K75 is one of the smoothest beemers ever built, and the only thing to watch out for is the drive splines, which needs lubing whenever the rear tyre is changed. The other weakness is the instrument set which loves to get wet inside, and weak and brittle gears used in the speedo / tacho meters. Yours has the low seat option, and the front springs needs an upgrade if it is not firm enough. This bike is used by the London couriers as dispatch hacks, which says a lot about it.

I suppose MotoWorld is the best bet, or ebay. Good luck.

Cheers

Which brand?! I heard there is a new Metzeler tyre for GS... $400++ I heard.

Just curious do you guys do a 6K oil replacement as advised in many beemer forum or do you guys just go for the full service at 10K? Any particular brand? Was thinking of doing an oil change....

hi, just got my bm, having issue of oil leak on my bike, anyone here experienced that before? it doesnt really leak much, just a little and it will somehow flow over to the side stand while travelling. when parking, will see the oil patches on the tip of the side stand. when the engine gets hot, the oil will evaporates and produce white smokes. not too sure what kind of oil is it, change the rubber seal at motor shop problem still persist. anyone have a solution?

thanks

I do mine at intervals of at most 5k, sometimes 3 to 4k, it makes it easier on the pocket since mineral oil not so expensive. Cleaning the air-filter regularly also important for me.

Chong Chong, show us some pics of the leak?

Cheers

i assume you are riding a boxer. potentially some seals may be busted. you need to identify where is it leaking first before proper diagnosis of the problem can be carried out.
