I agreed with coolcat, the upper lip of the knee guards keep rubbing on the knees when I am off the bike.

Is that you?

Jokes aside.. i was at PML and saw the HP2 Sport. Soild work of art from my POV. Even the price tag that comes with it is solid.

No idea how a boxer engine would fare on a sportbike, but has anyone booked it so far?

Btw, what is the indian lady's name? Didnt manage to ask just now.

Not me....

Saw it sometime back really a nice bike but me not into sport bike...

hi guys,

any of u using:

-aftermarket handlebar? i.e. renthal fatbar? any need to extend the cables etc?

- aftermkt foot pegs? ie. ims, pivot, roc? i find the stock ones a tad skimpy, esp when i have boots on..

any difference ? coz there is no rubber pad on the aftermarket, hence wondering if the vibration wld be obvious

FOR SALE (PM for more details)

-inline hockey guards,stick, gloves,pants

-ipod shuffle, 1GB, red, limited edition

What bike is this handlebar for?

As for the handlebars, you will need to consider the risers unless you get back the same size clamps for the aftermarket handlebars. The controls and switches are another consideration if they can be re assembled.

Cables are usually sufficient esp. if you use handle bar risers lifting the handlebars by 1-2 inches. There are plenty of slack and if you look at along the line, you could release some cable ties to give yourself a little more room in some areas.

As for the pegs.... with boots, i dun find any vibrations that can truly take away your comfort in riding experience. Never had any issues. But with the Roc Stompas, Fastways...etc... i guess it will be the better grip if you are looking to do a little off road riding and/or riding standing up....... The aftermarket ones or the adventure ones allow a broader base for a more confortable footing while standing up during your rides.

Again... i am not too sure what are you riding. Ignore if you were referring to the the RT/GT or K series. but then...why would you want to change to aftermarket handlebars/ footpegs.....

Interesting reading ....

BMW admits quality control problems (1 Sep 2008)

The quality of BMW motorcycles has suffered due to a massive boost in sales, the firm has admitted.

The German motorcycle manufacturer, which has a strong reputation for reliability and quality, has failed to maintain standards while struggling to meet a rise in demand of over 40%, according to bosses.

Around 7,000 motorbikes have been sold to UK customers with potentially faulty immobilisers, the firm has announced. Models across the range are affected by the fault, which could leave owners stranded by preventing them starting their bikes.

The firm is also dealing with a second fault, affecting fuel pumps on R1200GSs. The fuel pump relay can fail, halting fuel supply to the engine, BMW said.

Adrian Roderick, the firm’s UK general manager, said the two faults were just the latest problems to arise following a sales boost. “They’re the two we’ve had to deal with most recently,” he said.

In both cases the firm has decided not recall potentially affected bikes but to replace faulty components when they are next being serviced.

Roderick blamed the problems on the firm’s struggle to build 15-20% more bikes each year for four years to meet the surge in demand. “We were growing so fast we were sort of tripping over ourselves,” he said. ”We’re well over 40% up on four years ago. With any product, when you suddenly increase volumes quite quickly you are prone to things going adrift.”

He put the sales boost down to the shedding of the firm’s image as an “eccentric or quirky choice”, helped by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s use of BMWs in their TV adventure series Long Way Round and Long Way Down.

Hendrik von Kuenheim, the head of BMW’s motorcycle division, said: “We’re selling a lot more bikes so there are bound to be some problems.” Von Kunheim said a trouble shooter had been appointed to report directly to him on quality to help resolve the issue.

Roderick claimed the firm was now getting a grip on the problem with the help of the new appointment. He said progress could be charted through warrantee costs. “As sales went up the warrantee cost per bike went up slightly,” he admitted. “Now it’s dropping back down again.”

4 solutions:-

1. http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/976/80066880.JPG

2. Change inspection center

3. Change back to stock horn every year before inspection.

4. Have 2 sets of horns on the bike, install a selector switch.

Temporary and lazy solution is unplugging the connectors to the nautilus horns and plug it to a stock horn, for the sake of this inspection :thirsty:

bro Phang,

i was thinking option 4 too. however .... due to laziness, i used a cable tie to secure the oem horn, wired back and quickly went back for inspection.

wiring back and forth is a tiring affair. will adopt option 4 soon.

so ... long time no kopi? :thirsty::thirsty:

Just to share.. what i did was my father's fancy trick.. "Just put 3-4 ( More if u desire) dots of AXE OIL at any spots of ur seat. no need to spread it all over. just a dot here and there. recomended 3 on top.. and another 2 on the side ofur seat. This will put off the (MUST BE a regular) cat who is familiar wif ur bike.Try that for a week or month. not to worry... the smell will be gone by the time u wake up for work the next morning. IF NOT.. u got free cooling effect and a nice scent on ur a$s. But trust me, the cooloing effect is worth far more better than a torn or seat with holes though... and yes. the trick work well for my ride..all 3 of it. ehkekhekh

cheers..

ups for beemer owner.

Just to confirm that this is for a Zumo 500? And not the Zumo 550?

I believe the Zumo 500 does not come with the car kit. But again i could be wrong..anyone verify?

Unless your package does come with the Garmin carkit then it seems to be a great deal!!! With this price, i wished i haven't paid over 1k on my year old Zumo550.... you lucky guys!!

i searched the garmin website to find comparisons..

seems like the 500 and 550 are around the same. weight, screen size, function wise only the "Speaks street names" (e.g. "Turn right ON ELM STREET in 500 ft.") differ.

so if the price varies by hell lot, think sticking to the 500 is better. just that i dun see many 500 models around in sgp.. maybe only for elsewhere usa or european markets?

386USD is the price quoted to you from the mei mei?

it will be around 563sgd.. hmmm.... im in serious thought here..
