Has anybody install scottoiler on a f650 before. Is there any side effect from doing so? Do I need to drill hole on manifold or something like tat to tap power.

The installation must be done by an experienced mechanic who knows how to install it for the F650. The young one who tried to do my job suggested drilling a hole in my engine because he couldn't find where to connect the air intake of the Scottoiler! Of course I refused and he wasted more than an hour putting it on and then taking it off for the unsuccessful installation. Subsequently I read about how to properly install it for F650 and yes there is a right way to do it - just not so straightforward and obvious.

He who hesitates is lost!

You have to polish it out with autosol. But by doing that you're making the aluminium thinner too.

After polishing, spray a layer of clear laquer over it to prevent further oxidization.

Hi brendon_ctk

Yes, mine is 2 tone, as you can see from my avatar. But there are quite a few of us here with the black and grey (frost blue, to be exact) color tone. But I guess mine is the only BMW without the BMW logo! So if you see such a bike, that's me. o_O

Did you go down to Carl's Junior last Sunday? The meet was postponed to 3:30pm. Sorry if any of you went down early and didn't see anybody. My fault. Should have left my contact number. Well, will do so in the next meetup.

Anyway, nice meeting Michael. A well kept K75 you have there. Beautiful. Also a very informative chat we had, Always nice to share info and tips.

Thank you for the link on how to replace the cam chain tensioner. It looks very do-able and I intend to give it a try. When my bike is hot after a ride, the rattle can be quite loud, especially when I release the clutch in neutral. When I pull in the clutch again, the rattling becomes softer although still audible. I suspect its because of a loose cam chain. Anybody experience this?

Regarding ordering from Motorworks, I realized they show the postage cost when you click checkout and after entering your particulars.

Well, someone ask me to tompang his order (shall not name him without his permission). He ordered a few small and light parts.

To find out the difference in postage, I did an experiment.

First, I keyed in his order and got the postage.

Then I keyed in my order plus his and got the postage.

Finally, I keyed in my order only.

If he orders separately, the postage quoted is about 7 GBP.

If he orders through me, his postage is about 6 GBP (our orders minus mine).

The difference is only 1 GBP (S$2.30). Strange. I would have thought the difference would be greater. Factor in the GST he may have to pay (my order is quite large) and it would be better if he orders himself.

If this is the case, then there is not much point in combining orders.

I know of 4 two-tone R1100R in Singapore; would rather not post their plates online without their consent. However, I note that some have yellow borders between the two tones, while some do not. Any idea why?

I also like the dark green variant, as well as the 75th edition with pin-stripes.

The R1100R, with its curves, remains for me one of the nicest and purposeful looking BMW bikes ever.

Cheers

When I was looking to change my bike, I came across 2 R1100Rs on offer.

One was a 1999 model and the other a 2000 model.

They looked the same at first but on closer inspection, the grey is of a different tone, beside the yellow stripe on the 2000~ model.

The bagsters below will give a clearer picture.
