yes currypuff i mean brake plate, the disc plate between your brake pad.. if that what you call.. by the way are you servicing your bike at autopoint by the owner call alex?

Hi brendon,

My bike is now at a shop called Kim Keat in Autopoint. Same floor as Seng Kwang and Stamford (owner Alex).

My brakes were changed at Combine. But they used the wrong type (no clips) and now the brakes rattle like crazy.

Chatted with Alex and he advised that I replace the pads with the proper type to prevent damage to the brake disc.

But no, I have never brought my bike to Stamford. I doubt he has the time to service it at the moment.

No bike for 2.5 weeks already... :weep:

BTW, when I bought a Ctek charger from Limbat, the wife recommended the HIR bulb for a brighter beam. Problem is, it has only 1 filament (did I get the term right?) so I could not switch to high beam. That made me hesitate. Has anyone here tried the bulb?

Hi,

Just got my Class 2 and am looking at a R1200C.

Any views on it?

Since it's already a 10+ year old bike, any major problems?

Easy to get parts?

Cheers

Seriously, if I am looking for a cruiser, this is the one I will get. This bike is tailor made for my body.

HIR ( Halogen Infrared Reflective) bulbs are midway between HID and conventional Halogen bulbs in terms of brightness and price.

And yes, because its single filament only, you will loose your highbeam.

Hiya, Salty, Welcome.

No worries about buying parts for BMW bikes. PML carries them, and you have the option of buying from elsewhere too.

This is a great bike, the only complaints I've seen are the seemingly easily corroded rims and headers. It's a monolever, so should not have the problems associated with the final drives of the oilheads.

10+ year old bike's typical issues: wiring harness frayed (need to re-wrap), clutch change (assuming that is not done). Flush the fluids, oil / fuel filter and you should be good. Really love the black pinstripe one:

Cheers

Great idea.

Some art shops sell the thin foam sheets, I would imagine laying the sides with those will cushion the helmet nicely.

Cheers

Elegant and inexpensive solution to your problem. Well done.

I just place old newspapers in my topbox for cushion and to absorb water.

BTW, anyone get numb hands on long rides? My throttle hand hurt everytime I went up north.

throttle rocker will solve it... btw...sardine or potato?

Sardine curry puff or potato curry puff? Personally I like chicken potato curry puffs sell by Old Chang Kee.

The previous owner of my bike fitted a throttlemeister, I guess I will never have a chance to use it.

Why no chance?

At US$130~, an expensive option. I have a cheap 'throttle rocker' bought at Ah Boy. But it didn't help with the vibes.

I am reading up on the super heavy bar end weights (13 ounces~) from Manic Salamander. Wonder how effective those are on a Roadster.

Guys... need ur help...

I remembered I ever browsed thru this section on how to make wiring on the battery neater, but could not recall what the gadget called?

As you know, we connect all sorts of gadgets onto the battery, i.e radios, IU...etc. Was wondering if anyone here is kind enough to give me some lead. THanks
