Hi Guys,

 

It Seems my front brake light switch is acting up.. sometimes the brake light would remain on all the time.

 

Had a check wif the agent and that tiny thing costs a whopping $142 (Ouch!) and they dun have stock

 

I was told that its a rather 'hot' item

 

Question is does anyone of you get your spares from other source elsewhere?..

I think everybody has to get their parts from PML. Even outside workshop, even M-Technik. The difference is, those shops get more discount than if you or I go to PML directly. That's what I've been hearing all this while...

Went to Mersing this morning, tot can hv a swim there or Desaru. so wore swimming trunk instead of boxer short for e trip, was thinking, can just strip naked & jump in. Coooool.

 

Tot it was a short trip, so i didnt bring any sparts except e 7yrs old tyre repair kit, 2 bulbs & 2 plugs. Also bought with me my wife's helmet - M size, can never squeeze it in & a small tower.

 

So after sending wife to work @ 0830hrs. Makan, petrol, changed $ @ JB, headed to Mersing - reached there abt 1100hrs, covered abt 100+km.

 

After refuel, felt sian @ Mersing, so decided to try Kuantan - abt 200+km away - but main purpose is e trunk road, been there 6-7yrs ago but now e road seem oily, abit scary when taking corners. Reached Kuantan @ abt 1340hrs, was exhausted. i know was too tired to take e trunk road back. so decided to go KL for a hair cut/wash, then take e NSH back.

 

Reached KL @ abt 1655hrs & as usual, lost inside KL, wonder inside for almost 1.5hrs. Didn't hv my hair cut/wash there, lousy planning.

 

So,just trial & error & managed to spot a sign to "KLIA" & "Sembrem (or something like tt)", asked a bus driver & was told can reach Spore. Guess it is a new highway, no car @ all, i was all alone 4 @ least 15mins, damm worry i might ended up in Ipoh or somewhere else. I just ride blindly & follow whatever sign I can find. Eventually, spotted a sign "JB".

 

Reached Ayer Kerlor R&R @ abt 1930hrs. Had KFC there & watched cars flying passed. Really felt like sleeping there.

 

Reached 2nd petrol kiosk 2200hrs & home 2230hrs.

 

Total distance covered should be more than 800km. Worst part of e ride is fm Muar to Ayer Hitam - rain, spot lights are useless when rain, more confused as lights seem like reflecting fm everywhere but they are perfect on dry weather.

 

My short trip ended up rather long & felt "heng" i didnt sign up for TRANS-MALAYSIA, i cannot tahan for just 1 day & 800km, I cant imagine i need to cover abt 3000km within 3days.

800km a day is rather tiring u know. U could have reached the Thai Border already hehehe. But i think its a real adventourous thing u did. Riding alone sometimes is a good kick however unexplainable in words. Hmmm.... heheheh. We can actually plan for a Tasik Kenyir Ride Nice place it seems. never been there. But thats one of the only places left I've yet to see in Malaysia. Hehhehe. Up for it anyone?

SDR is right. I think i got the same problem. My Brake lights were acting up the last time. Brake lights wasnt working at all. Thought the bulb blew. So I took it out to take a look. Bulb was still good. Fiddle with it for a while moving it here and there. It lighted at some positions. Took a closer look. Damn. The Plastic assembly holding on to the bulb melted and fused together with the bulb, causing a bad connection. Tried to fiddle with the bad connection, hoping it will improve from adjustment with a test-pan & blew a fuse.

 

Decided to just buy the new assembly. Got it at almost $80 at PML Parts department... and replaced it myself.

Sorry bro, as you can see, it was a unplanned trip and 2ndly, from the time taken (I sent SMS to wife at every stopover), I was doing at a very slow pace, my bike and I are no longer young, can't take high speed stress. Trunk road (east coast highway) max @ 120km/hr, at times doing just 70km/hr. NSH max 150km/hr, from Muar to Ayer Hitam was travelling as slow as 80km/hr due to poor visibility, following the Cub Kia at shoulder lane. Dont think your FJR & U can tahan that speed. I can't when I was younger.

 

Wife has not pass her lic, she wants to meet up to "look see look see". Her TP test on 19th this month, hope she will get her lic and then she will get her GT200 or Mojito, she seem quite indecisive now.

Tasik Kenyir? @ Malaysia? Never heard before, distance? Sound interesting. but can't go any trip with wife after July, she is still waitiing for her jacket to arrive.

Yeap, that's the highway to KLIA, which will eventually take you to NSH (if you're in the right direction, otherwise..IPOH! hehehehe). That's the only place where I dare to speed because not that many cars.

 

What an 'adventure' eh?

 

I also wish I don't have to work, just wake up and think of where to ride to only.

U think we can do it over the weekend without taking additional leave from work? That would make it easier for me to join. We can start our journey early early morning on Saturday, come back on Sunday.
